need the VR4...that's my dream car....but look what i got...although, i do like my car...i hope you like the 3kgt as much as i do >
> in fact, i missed out on a black 94' by a week >

i drove a stealth twin turbo all wheel drive for a week and i never wnated to give it back. a very fun and very very fast car.
The thing I love is it just climbs and climbs when you lay into it. The fastest car Ive ever personally drove. But the body style is no where near as sexy as the celicas.
a little too heavy for my taste... but nice car none-the-less.
Believer, you'll leave her, in leaving them allNo but I don't buy itLike anything you do, as anyone you areCause I'm...Ten Speed, of God's Blood & Burial
My friends got a VR4, um...fast. Thats all i can say. Takes off like a rocket.

I had an oppurtunity to get one of those...but still haven't gone out to look at it. I think it's pretty low miles...the VR4 and it's only like 9 grand. It's some old lady...eh...are they really that fast? I will go check it out if people honestly think they are.

I'm going to look at my friends wing, it just looks like a plain old lil wing, but i am not 100% sure.
Regardless, its a very fast car.

I have a 93 3000GT N/A. Not too bad of a car, expensive to maintane. Make sure you have the 60k tuneups done or else you will be buying a new motor. Have fun with it... hope you dont have too many problems like some do >
> also Check out www.3si.org for some good info.
i was researchin on a 3kgt and im about to get one witf 75000 for 6000. but i heard that the sl model has 220 hp at crank, however, the whp is only around 165. i saw dyno charts with this. IMO anything other than a vr4 isnt worth the maintenance the 3kgt requires. i aint bashing the car, is one of the cars i like the most. just givin my .2
The VR-4 is more costly in maintence than a N/A....If you want to spend big money on turbos and transmissions (mainly transmission problems) then buy a VR-4. I bought my N/A with 80k and i now have 94k. Only problem is that the thermostat went out. The 60k was done at the dealer and the person before me was charged 1200$!!! You can do it yourself for 350$. Its been a pretty darn good car though. Most people havent had that luck. The N/A is plenty quick enough for me. Just depends on what you want. Just be warned...They can be a money pit.... They just aint no toyota >

Yup its adjustable, my mistake. Sorry >

Actually stock would be around 172whp(100,000+miles seen dyno sheets). The car can definatley be a pit. 170+whp is a far cry from a celica and DEFINATLEY worth the money. Whens the last time you pulled up to a GS-T and felt confindent... I never once would dream in a Celica GT. But toyotas are just as reliable as taxes. So with higher end cars come higher end wallets in most instances. I would probably kill myself with 320hp.lol. Anyway The celica will always be my first born and first love but its okay to have a mistress.

it's the same with the old 8 series BMW's. they sell for well under 20 grand now, and were originally 75-100k
Yeap...3000GT's are pretty cool cars. You will get so much attention with one. You should look into 93 and up year models, they have forged cranks. Spun bearings is a very common problem with non-forged cranks.
i had a choice of either a 95 3000gt or a 95 celica. both same price, same amount of miles. the 3000gt would have been alot faster with the 100hp extra over the celica, and besides the headlights, i think its a sharper looking car...but i made the wise choice...a celica is less expensive to maintain, and will probably last longer.
