Alright so I need some helpy guys, last summer my celica threw a check engine light when i hit a rough intersection. I figured it was just a sensor that came loose. well today I finally got it out of storage and i read the code.
So I used the paperclip technique connecting te1 and e1 and it gave me a code twelve. I fond this link: http://www.off-road.com/toyota/tech/codes/ found in an older topic.
My car read out a code 12, and from this link i found on 6gc it says"
RPM SIGNAL-NO SIGNAL TO ECU FROM DISTRIBUTOR ("Ne" OR "G") AFTER ENGINE HAS BEEN CRANKED
--DISTRIBUTOR/CIRCUIT
--STARTERSIGNAL CIRCUIT
--IGNITER/IGNITER CIRCUIT
--ECU
Now I don't really understand what this means, Im relatively new to cars, and everything has seemed to be working fine since the cel came on. I drove it for abot a month or 2 when the CEL was on last summer, and everything seemed to be running fine, can any of you guys help me out? thanks a lot.
