I feel your frustration.

hey ,
if you must blame someone for no 94+ GT4'S blame Toyota and your fellow americans ..

The yen vs Dollar was bad and at the time the import market had no room for a
$30,000+ celica..

now if that car was sold now i am sure toyota would have not a issue selling as WRX and EVO are hot sellers and there is a healthy import aftermarket as well which in turn helps sell cars..

Also Americans overall are ignorant to Rally cars and had no clue about what Toyota Celica w/ 4wd and turbo was capable of .. (GB rally this weekend was awesome to watch and my man PETTER SOLBERG did it..)

it is a shame we never got LEGAL GT4 here but maybe down the road something will pop up..

maybe a miracle will happen and new Scion car CCX will be based on 4WD caldina platform with a new body ... i really hope so i can buy 3rd gen motor parts ..

i guess you blame DOT but you must also blame auto companies, insurance co, and UAW who all have scum bag lawyers and lobbyists doing their dirty work to keep "grey" import cars out of US .. (if you are a scum bag lawyer or lobbyist i apologize) ..

So, what if some kind soul by chance imported one over, and sacrificed it to get crash data...would that be possible?

i am awesome
You know what's cool about Canada?!

Our laws say that we can't bring anycar that was not manufactured for the North American market (there is a grey area about getting a GT-4 from the Carribean) and that there is NO wayu around this. No matter what modifications are done, it can't be done...

EXCEPT

If the car is 15 years or older, the car is exeempt from this policy. So in 2008 you'll be able to bring a 1994 Celica Gt-4 that was MFG'd in 1993 into Canada.

Wicked?

Probably not. That's 5 years from now! Whack.

Believer, you'll leave her, in leaving them allNo but I don't buy itLike anything you do, as anyone you areCause I'm...Ten Speed, of God's Blood & Burial
I don't think anyone here hates the DOT more than me. They took my license for a year and a half and I only got pulled over once. I was doni 83 in a 65. That's it ... and bye bye for 1 1/2 years. They wouldn't let me appeal or anything ... basically I have no choice but to wait. What do you guys think of that?
its ****ty, but u were speeding. if ur gonna speed ur gonna pay. what am i talkin about? im about to get my license suspended cauz i wont pay my 86 dollar careless driving ticket >confused.gif>
Yea I know it was my bad, but the DOT screwed me over way more than they should've. That was my point. 1 1/2 is way too much punishment for anything ... you only get 6 months for DUI.
