I believe that every car should be fully tuned. Spark plugs, oil, filter change and so on.

Please let me know how you normally drive.

I use to drive flat out all the time. Now, I am trying to save gas. Sometimes, I have a little fun. But when I get serious, I crank the fuel up and lets have it.

lol, few ways you could go. More aggressive cams will bring you up to where you want to be, but that level would cause rough idling and kill daily driving comfort. Could also go with a properly tuned EMS, but that's rather pricey. Then there's the SC kit by JapSpeed, but that's UBER pricey.

Edit: High Compression Pistons would also achieve some benefit.

the degree of cams would cause some problems. 264 would be good

A nice Autronics would do good. Have them there in netherlands.

The have high compression pistons already. Advice a small turbo with max 6-8psi of boost.

But stated above, I have to wait on what he will tell me.

Well to answer ur question. I drive very relaxed... normally my rpm is between 3000 and 4000. This is cause i have to drive a lot every day to my work and back. There is no need for some extra power there. But, in the weekends i like to go all the way.

So it would be nice 2 have drivability comfort, but also some more power for the times i want to. Thats why my goal aint 250 or 300 hp like some others. I just want some more acceleration and power in the lower RPM's. I was thinking of getting HKS camshafts, camgears and valve springs. Together with a Jun flywheel, an apexi air intake and a HKS silent high power exhaust system. I think this will help me get some more power, just dont know it for sure.

But those mods cost about the same as a Top Fuel turbo kit. But i wonder if the Top Fuel kit is enough to fit right. Cause it doesnt have an intercooler, and i think i would have to tune more stuff to make it work right. And that will cost me a lot more.

Any advice is appreciated.

PS, that small turbo sounds good, but are there any complete kits that i can buy that includes everything i need 2 make it work right without problems ? Got any websites where i might purchase such turbokit ?

My advice to you is to get an Autronics SM or SM2 ECU.

Why, you have them there and there are tuners there.

I would also advice a Jun Flywheel, MSD Digital SCI Plus or a MSD Digital 7 Plus w/ HVC II coil.

If you go with the Autronics, get the MSD DIS-4 Ignition controller which will allow a coil per cylinder.

The Apexi filter and HSK Hi-Power also sounds good.

Get some Hyperground Cables and some MSD ignition cables.

Drop the car a bit with Tein or JIC or Cusco suspension.

A bigger cam will require you to rev a little bit more to make power. Go with 264.

It is very possible that you can go on the hks forum and ask for a turbo kit for the 3sge for 250 flywheel HP. There have all the parts that you can use., since majority fits the 3sgte.

Spend some tine with blitz or hks. Even Jun can help you for what you need for your application. I will check my turbomagazine. There is a kit for the 3sge that was use on a lexus IS300 I think. But a lexus.

The main problem with a turbo setup is the delivery of oil.

It depends on what parts you are looking for.
My understanding that the cams will fit. The pistons and so on.

Will you want to go to turbo charging at 5psi?

i was going to ask the same question - guess you beat me to it!!

how much difference will a flywheel make?? (Is it worth getting new one, or lightening the existing one??)

im still not sure about cams, i was told they can give up to 20 - 25 bhp extra (3sge) - but not sure what to get yet

better spark plugs and leads - any noticible diference??

Any new cams with make you rev a little more to get power and it all depends on setup.

I would advice to buy a flywheel that to lightened it.

The flywheel will make you accelerate faster, and make the engine responsive. The only problem that it is hard to keep the revs there once come on the clutch.

basically, is it worth spending money on little things like better spark plugs and so on, or rather to save that money and spend it on other stuff.

All true!

To keep the revs there, do not see why!!! use some 19" rims or even 20".

It is better to start with basic mods and go from there.

If you are turbocharging. It is slightly different.

Injectors, boost control to my believe is the most important factors when relly thinking about turbo or over supercharging.

Why do want to lightened the flywheel and still bothering about keep revs. In racing, there is no need for this.

I have a 3rd gen 3SGE as well, imported from a 95' Curren. I also have a 3rd gen 3SGTE from a ST205. Asside from the high compression pistons, more aggressive cams, injectors and manifolds - they are the same engine. I was in the process of turbo-ing it before my job fell apart, now it's on hold. Here is the route I took:

Swapped pistons with stock 3SGTE - needed fo running higher boost, you could probably get away with 5 - 7psi on the stock pistons.

Replaced injectors with Denso Top feed 550's (the 3SGTE injectors are all side feed, the 550cc top feed injectors are usually found on upgraded Mitsubishi's). Very plentiful and cheap in the US.

Replaced exhaust manifold with the stock ST205. You could also use the stock turbo and DP.

Added a used Greddy FMIC ($400). Very easy to do with the side mount TB.

Bought a used 3rd gen powered MR2 ECU and switched some wires around. If I didn't swap out the pistons, I would have just used the 3SGE computer.

Replaced fuel pump with stock ST205 pump. Used the stock FPR from the 3SGE (same as the 3SGTE).

And thats it! I've gone a bit further then this, but if your looking for budget performance this is all you really need.

Possibly? Not exactly sure.

Do you have the trans with the LSD option? If not, you should look into it - grip is always a sure way to increase your 0-60 time. I know there are a few options for aftermarket LSD units.

I remember how many times I've broken the tire's loose on my old 5SFE Celica GT - and that only had 135HP. I cant imagine holding 170HP to the ground. Do you often find yourself loosing traction on take-off?
