I am wonder who on this forum is riding around on Toyo Proxies RA1 and Bridgestone Potenza S03 Pole Position?

If you do, please give my your size and experience on them.

i used to have proxes fz-4's. guess thats not what u wanted.

I doubt anyone will ride on RA1 in this forum, they're too expensive. I have a few friends who run them on track. 195/55/15. They are an excellent tire, but they wear down way too fast. As far as traction goes, they're the best available to us.

i had them on my stock rims. i loved those things. the tread wear was unbelieveable. i had them on for about a year (including past owner) and i sold them to john and they still have like 25% tread left. they were 225/50/15's so they were pretty wide and looked badass. they were incredible on the road. only bad thing i have to say is.. they suck in the rain. SUCK A55. i now have nankangs on my 17 rims and they ride alright... i can tell the diff. altho it might just be the rims.

Get some Toyo Proxes T1s. If not some Bridgestone S02

The RA1s are good track tires, but aren't really practical on the street unless it never rains where you're at. For ultimate grip and no compromises (i.e. don't drive them on the street or in the rain!) go with the new Hoosier RS04. They're absolutely incredible and actually last really well on the track.

As far as Toyos go, the T1S their best street tire and it sucks. We had to run them this year in World Challenge and I hate them. We were making 1.2g on them pretty consistently, but they fall off really fast and don't wear that great. The ones we used were all shaved, we used the full depth tires for rain and they're really horrible.

I just bought a set of the Yokahama ES100s. I think they're probably the hot buy in street tires right now, but I won't have them for a few days. I've previously been running the Falken Azenis Sports. They're EXCELLENT street tires and wear reasonably well, but I wanted something a little cheaper this time. And I just wantned to try something different after running the Azenis for like 4 sets now.

The Bridgestones (SO2 if you can find them and SO3 if you can't) are good tires, but they can't even come close to competing in value with the Azenis. The SO2 might be a slightly grippier tire, but only the best drivers will be able to tell or take advantage of the difference. The SO3 and the Azenis are about equal in tread wear and overall performance and the SO3 costs at least $60 per tire more. I know where my money is going.

I am a Bridgestone and Yokohama Lover.

In Japan, as you already know, there are the two main rivals.

The S03 and the Azenis both had good and bad reviews.

What you can help me out with is if the Azenis works better as the treads go? The Potenza models are suppose to get more grippier as there wear.

I drive on RA1's and so as many people. But the type of mileage that we can some see, does not warrant this tire, unless speeding money is not a problem.

My RA1 185 is almost equivalent to my Bridgestone Potenza GIII 205. I just cannot wait to try some 215 RA1.

The only tire that I would like to see a review on is between Yokohama Advan AD07 and Bridgestone Potenza RE01 and the Advan A048 & Potenza RE55.

Nope, I don't know of any comparisons like that.

The Azenis doesn't get grippier as it wears down from full tread, but it doesn't get worse. The SO3 has a dual compound setup IIRC thats why it seems to get more grippy as it wears. The real ticket if you don't get much rain is to buy them shaved (if you can find them). New shaved Azenis or SO3s will kick the **** out of full tread ones.

I still maintain that the Azenis is equal in performance to the SO3 at all stages of its life and it can be had for a LOT less money!

I'll update everybody on the ES100s when I get them. They should be here any day.

I'm going to be spoiled when I do get them tho, because that means that I'll be running Hoosiers on my 15" wheels. One of the perks of working for a race team is that you get all the used take-offs that you want. Nothing like a free set of race tires with 5 laps. >>

The ES100 are Yokohama DNA GP tires in Japan. Not bad.

Like to see the AD07 sold in the USA.

In Japan, the ES100 is called DNA GP. Was up for 1+ year now. Just a comfort tire.

Stick to the AVS Sport if you are a Yokohama love, since you cannot get the Advan Neova AD07.

Interesting. I'm not looking for a tire to tear up on the track or at autoxes so it should work just fine for me. I've got plenty of used hoosiers, toyo ra1's, and kumho victoracers laying around to keep me busy for a while. >>
