Topic #72936 7 posts Started by Raves44
Looking for a thread on a 4agze swap into a 95 st just curious on what to expect if i decide to do this swap thank you!
i have looked into this swap and seeems prety straight forward apart from a little modding and you have to get a new ecu for the 4agze, i would love to do this swap

I've been researching this swap for a long time... for the money (unless you happen to have a 4agze laying around) you might as well do a 3sgte swap, same money but much bigger HP numbers.
only thing is though everyone is doing a 3sgte build now days, yes for the money you can have a 3sgte but there is alot more aftermarket support for the 4agze

That's just not true, there isn't any more aftermarket support for the 4agze as there is for the 3sgte. Plus, anyway, once you get a 3sgte in there, you don't need aftermarket support! tongue.gif

I was TOTALLY gung-ho on the 4agze for a long time... not as common of a build, etc. But then I compared the numbers, dollars and HP, and finally realized that there's a reason everyone does a 3s swap over the 4agze swap. 100HP is one of those reasons! Plus, the 3s is just one of the best motors Toyota built, whether a BEAMS 3S-GE or a GT-4 3s-gte, it's just a ROCK SOLID block. All in all the benefits of a 3s outweigh the advantages of a 4agze.
griff is right! 4agze is a straight forward swap for the st, but it is not a worth while swap (if horsepower is what you want). the 4a is a unique swap, but not a horsepower contender. 3sgte is where the power is at. there are plenty of options for aftermarket parts in the 3sgte world too.

anyways, hope you figure out what is right for you. happy searching, and swapping!
