For what it's worth, I think it worked very well to wait at the meet location and then caravan to the store (mostly because I got a ride in two 3S swapped Celicas!).

Here is the problem with meeting at walmart or any place for that matter.

Im going to draw on example of our past meet. I was supposed to meet ferdi and samir behind Denny's... I missed the sign and never saw it so kept driving and ferdi was running late.. in the end samir caught up with me and ferdi came in late to the meeting spot.

Problem is that everyone gets to places at different times. Up north we used to meet up along the rest stops on i-95. They were 30 miles apart and we would set a time frame.. like 10-10:15 and if peeps dont catch up then next meeting place was lets say 12-12:15 etc.

well. im not sure if we have to pay a fee first of all, dont want to encounter it 2x. BUT if you all want, we dont have to meet at walmart. just bring whatever you are bringing when you are coming. if we need to make a list about who is bringing what so there is no confusion (i.e. 2 sets of buns and no burger meat) we'll do so here.

Just finished my move to Tampa two days ago. 16 hours drive straight down here from Ohio. Uggg I was wiped out!
Good news is that I'm definitely in. Bad news is that the painting deal in Ohio went really sour and my Celica is only in grey primer now.

It won't.
But had I known that he was gonna renege on the deal I wouldn't have wetsanded it. Should have kept her in flat black...
Maybe I will find somebody to paint her before the meet.
I have the paint, just gotta find some good paint shop in the area and buy some clearcoat.

If you come to the meet you will see what happens when you get a half way decent maaco paint job.

Most people bash maaco because they get a cheap as hell 299 paint job which entails 2-3 coats of paints on top of 1980s color faded paint just to make car look a little more presentable. Maaco can and does quality work. All you do is pay more and you get exactly what you pay for. I have been using maaco since 2000 on several cars and never once had I had problems with them. But of course I also dont go to maaco trying to get a 20000 dollar paint job either.

I have been having quite a few problems with the celica and I have been hopeful to get them done before this meet but it doesnt look like things are getting done fast enough maybe next meet she will be running well enough

Sorry to hear about your car problems mate. Considering all things and difficulty of making people attend meets this may be the last central florida meet. I know I know I said it last time but last time I had 2 wishful thinkers standing next to me at the meet spot telling me that they could not believe how many people did not show. It is a responsibility of 6gc members to upkeep this community whether online or in person. Hard to organize meets when you have very low participation and those people that do attend are 1 step away from not having their celicas (due to age, car condition or car possession for that matter).

All I do know is that this will be my last meet.

So ummm.. can we get a tally of people who err.. will attend?!

Right now I have an opportunity to go scuba diving on friday, saturday and sunday or I can go to the car meet and be there all by myself of with a couple more people and then mosey over 6 hours across the state to dive on sunday.

Naturally I am more inclined to go diving since its a sure thing. What exactly is happening with the meet?

Are we going are we maybe going are we not going?

I should be there guy's I might have to replace the driver side axle befor the meet because she's getting bad. Come on everyone off your a## and on your feet we have a meet to greet lol!!!!
