Oil leak around timing cover - 6G Celicas Forums

Hi was just wondering if anyone has changed the seals and gaskets around the timing cover? If so, is there a "HOW TO" I will post a picture in a few minutes so you can see the areas its leaking from..Thanks,Brian

I don't normally drive fast, but when I do its on a curvy section of this island
will post the pictures in a second there seems to be alot of oil around the coolant neck
try and check your valve cover bolts. the old members told me to look from top (first) to bottom when it comes to leaks unless you can see the oil building and dripping

they are fine just installed a new gasket and seals
What is the highest point that is dry?
Because our cars use belts the timing cover is just there to keep dirt out its not really "sealed". The only thing you can do is pull your timing cover off and check.
I would say the lowest point would be 4-5 inches below the valve cover and it is only on the one side of the engine starting by the coolant neck area...so it couldnt be the oil pump or something inside the cover producing the leak?
