2nd gen 3s swap with 6 codes and 10.7 afr at idle - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #73562 6 posts Started by pxcr440

update: all the below still remains but installed and calibrated wideband setup and found that air fuel ration is sitting at 10.7 at idle , which explains the super rich smell .. but whats the cause , i recently replaced the afm with a rebuilt unit, cap rotor ,plugs are all new , and i still have all the codes

2nd gen 3sgte swap into a 94 gt ,tweak did the harness will idle all day smoothly , timing is at 10 degrees , but as soon as you touch the throotle it falls on its face and if you slowly throttle it up it runs out to about 4 grand and actls like its cutting fuel , ,,, its got 6 codes showing ,

i didnt get the codes, but my supra behaved exactly the same way when one of the fuel lines in the tank broke. the fuel pressure dropped as soon as i would touch the throttle. try that?

Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor signal.
Intake Air Temperature Sensor signal
Air Flow Meter signal.
HAC Sensor signal
Throttle Position Sensor signal.

Cant find a 47.

The fuel issues is most likely the AFM. I had issues with my afm, so I swapped it out and no more issues.

Assuming your afm in plugged in...
Check the wring to your safc2. Make sure all the connections are soldered in and not crimped. Then make sure the safc is correctly set to Flap, 2in/2out, 4cly, throttle UP.
Then reset the ecu by pulling the efi fuse (or disconnect the battery) for a few min, and check back to see what codes come back once the car has been running for a while.

the safc is not installed yet , it is all stock currently ,minus the intercooler and bov, and a 3 inch downpipe , is there a way to test the afm , coolant temp sensor is new also
