Topic #74072 15 posts Started by JuMPiiN
I'll get straight to the question. I used the search button and couldnt find anything related to the question so im posting it up. Can a ST dash harness ( goes to speedometer, radio, ext ) work with the GT model. IM looking for one as you could tell from my post inthe FS section. Theres 2 STs here locally and if it works ill go pull it from there.

Anyone who knows your greatly appreciated !!! I just want to make sure before i go and spend a hour or so pulling it from the junkyard and then it not work lol.
speedo/radio/climate are all universal.
I think where it plugs to the ecu might be your issue but can't say for sure...
Anyone know if the ST plugs into the ecu then lol. I appreciate the response and help bro.

unless you get an exact match to your car(ie: 95 gt body harness) then you may have diffrent wire colors and or locations on the plugs. the harness itself will be the same.
if your looking for a body harness to fix your swap issues, chances are thats not gonna help.
the engine harness only interfaces with the body harness at the 3 plugs beside the ecu.

I'm just putting in another 5s. Just need to fix the wires underneath my steering wheel where some idiot decided to cut and splice every hot wire under there so I have no idea what is what. If you look at it there about 15 wires that don't even belong ( power wires for amps, spliced wires for alarms that were just left there, more wires that go no where and don't even belong) it's just a major headache you know. So I was hoping to get another harness and just swap them out so I have no more wiring headache !
I might have a GT dash harness for you if you want, I've got more wiring harnesses from that stuff I picked up a few months ago, and I *think* one of them may be a dash harness. PM me if you're interested, I'll pull it out of the shed this weekend and take a look.

That's cool lol I wanted to rebuild it anyways. I fid find one 5s in a junkyard here, but it's drenched in oil and muck and no harness and it has over 500k on the speedo I don't think it's worth pulling it.
500k? I'm going to assume it's been swaped before, but we usualy get 250-300k at life limit. (though i'm not saying those numbers are absolute)There is a thread around here somewhere with guys past the 300k mark.

But they're the ones who maintain it WELL and probably had it a long time. No prior abuse.

I wouldn't trust the dirty engine witha speedo that says 500k+ laugh.gif

check craigslist too.
