Not much support for the people who prefer auto over manual. Now I like 5sp manual don't get me wrong. It's just my last manual car was like 5 cars ago (11 years ago). Since then I've just found myself getting auto. I know the 3s-GTE comes in automatic with the ST215. The question here is. Is it possible to use a auto tranny from a 5s-Fe on a 3s-GTE which also is automatic? I know the manuals on the 5s-Fe are direct bolt on to the st205 3s-GTE manual. So would the auto tranny from a 5s-Fe handle the increased power from a 3s-GTE turbo?
3S-GTE with Automatic tranny from a ST215 - 6G Celicas Forums
no. its been done, needs am older ATM and an aftermarket ECT ECU. BTW he had to keep shift points low (3400-4500 rpm IIRC.) find a 3s with ECU, Harness, and STOCK auto tranny and perform swap as usual.

get a caldina 3s auto, and a auto tranny from a V6 camry, if I'm not mistaking, the ecu will be able to control that transmission.
It's not like I want to endorse automatics, necessarily, but I'd like to see this project completed.
