Replacement options for 95 Celica Convertible rear window - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #74254 6 posts Started by m2736185
I recently purchased a 95 Celica GT convertible...after a stormy windy day I noticed water was getting into the car so I took it into the garage and put the top down to vacum out the water...only to hear the sound of a crack.

An after market glass replacement is over $225 with shipping which is a little expensive to me just for the glass so I was opting for a vinyl replacement curtain which goes for around $120. I noticed the factory curtain is sewn into the top...Has anyone every replaced these or has any other options for me?

thanks
suck it up and spend the cash on the glass. or you will wish you had... after a few weeks the visibility on the clear vinyl deteriorates fast after a year you wont be able to see through it.
I was thinking that, but I would kill myself if I were to break it again.
look at local junk yards then. or call LKQ.

It's just GLUE that holds it in anyway. seriously.

Ha local junkyard? I have called everyone one and as soon as I mention the word "convertible" - sorry we dont have it. I couldnt wait im in FL and we are starting to get those daily 5 pm thunderstorms. So I ordered one from eBay.
Finally got the new window in today. Has anyone replaced one of these things before? I hear you have to staple the top ? Damn thing was suppose to come with directions.
