I don't know if this has always been there, because I just noticed it, but I dunno, it doesn't seem like an intake manifold should have a hole like that. Does anyone know what it's for??

Speed hole, duh. its for some bracket you don't have. neither does my 7A.

Not Every car that recieved the 7a-fe motor; had the same arangement. Obviously, some cars have things in different places. Such as Brake booster, Fluid Resiviores, relay boxes, clutch lines, ect ect ect.

The 7afe was a popular motor too. It was in a wide aray of vehicles. So instead of making each peice different for the same motor, it'd be easier to just mass produce one part, then use the bolt-in point if they needed it or leave it if they didn't. Some of the following vehicles will scratch their heads and wonder the same thing versus the celica's setup. lol

Yes, that would be an electrical ground connection from the harness to the engine head.

I'm not sure what that does

for me it seemed to reduce greatly how the engine stumbled for a second when a high electrical load came on, like the cooling fans or rear defrost. I probably had a weak ground to the engine somewhere else though and this was a bandaid.
