you guys scared the helk out of me! i saw the date for may 7th and immediately looked up the date for toyota fest 2011. Toyota Fest is actually on the 14th phew!

I'd really like to go to torc this year, but my finals week is the 14th-21st X_X. It would work if we could have the meet on Friday,then a bunch of us norcal guys could just stay around and go to torc the next day. but i dont think that will work for most people..

Andrew, a lot of us SoCal members will be attending TORC/ToyotaFest anyways. But that's a completely different style meet, as it's more of a show, and only something that's worth spending 1-2 hours in at most. If FOTY was scheduled for TORC weekend, then honestly, I wouldn't even consider that a FOTY meet if all we did was attend TORC and cruise around a little bit afterward. If the NorCal guys want to drive down for it, then that's awesome, but I'm telling you right now that it's not going to be worth the long drive to attend TORC.
FOTY/MOTY meets are already scheduled pretty tight since the further traveling caravan will always have to leave early or arrive late. So that makes it difficult to schedule anything else into the day. Long Beach is also quite a ways away from Castaic Lake, so that would tack on a few more hours of driving for you guys, and some extra gas as well.

Im talking about having foty before or after torc, not during. Either the friday(which would be best) or even the sunday(but id have to drive home that night X_X). Id like to go to torc, i mean EVERYONE talks about it and id like to attend it at least once, and id be killing 2 birds with one stone so to speak. But if i doesn't work its fine, ill survive
Just something to keep in mind. TORC may have free admission, but the parking is not free. Also, TORC doesn't last all day, so you would have to get there early on Saturday, meaning it would be best to drive down on Friday. I know you want to go to TORC, and I don't blame you. We just have to see what works best for everyone else right now. I just don't see a large meet like FOTY being held on a Friday would work out very well because of work, school, or other priorities. I'm not shooting the idea down, it's just something we'll have to discuss further.

oh damn I love it I'm going back to my old job. more pay then I'm getting now and I'll still be working Mon thru Friday. So my weekends are definitely free!!!

I wish I could go I had a blast at the MoTY last year. I have a family reunion that same weekend in central california so I cant make it. If I leave early I might stop by on my way back home, maybe catch the cruise at the end of the meet or whatever you guys are doing by then.

It will be mid year maybe, but will be in nor cal so it wont be as big. We haven't really talked it through at all yet. Most of nor cal,and hector, will be driving down on Friday to be able to rest and attend Toyota fest on Saturday.

The first page hasn't been updated because I don't have access to CAMAricer's log in information, and he hasn't been on 6gc in awhile. We had discussed it, and set the meet for Sunday May 15th, 2011. So I need to decide what to make as this year's FotY free give away. We've done t-shirts for the two meets last year. Derrick suggested that we get one new article of clothing each year, so that after a few years, we can have a whole outfit of Celica related souvenirs. We're leaning towards shorts. So I need everyone's short/pants sizes by April 1st. You have two weeks to send me your size or you NOT be getting anything. I need an exact count so I can place the order.

I was kind of just kidding about the whole outfit, but if you did decide to go with shorts, you should just go with some that are like basketball shorts, so the sizes can be more forgiving. I'm not sure how many people wear shorts though. I don't even think I own a pair of shorts.
