Welll last night i hit a deer coming home.

did a decent amount of damage and i'm waiting for the insurance adjuster to get here.
the lady at the actual insurance placed judged it from being 1600-2800 dollars in damage.


I shall need a new bumper, headlight, fender, and hood. . . According to the insurance lady..

soooooooo say i get 2200.....

i already ordered a pair of used headlights for 60 dollars!
and i can get another stock front bumper for 100 dollars locally.
.... leave the hood and fender the way they are...

and put 2000 into my celica possibly?

hood looks to be salvagable but the pics are small so can't really tell. but 2000 for ur celi sounds like fun!

Yeah, you might get $2,200 for the damage, less your deductible. Probably $500, right? That means you'll only get $1,700. And then you can source yourself a bumper, but what about paint? Hopefully you can match it to your car without paint. And truthfully, you're completely at the mercy of the claims adjuster. Whatever they say about your car/policy, that's final. Argue with them all you want, but the fact of the matter is that the adjuster is God when it comes to paying claims. The lady at the insurance agency only gave you a quote based on her opinion, MAYBE a generalized cheat sheet, and her opinion does not reflect what the adjuster will tell you. Better do a little brown nosing when the adjuster shows up. If the adjuster says the car is totaled, you'll get only what he deems it to be worth the instant before the collision.

If you don't mind me asking, what insurance company are you with? State Farm is good about paying their claims, as is Progressive. Other companies are reputable as well, but several companies will argue with you to the death. Again, a lot of it comes down the the claims adjuster though. If he feels like it, he'll be nice and call it a comprehensive claim and things will go much more smoothly for you. If he's in a bad mood, he can call it a collision claim, since you very clearly hit the deer with the front of your car and not the deer hitting the side or rear of your car.

The important thing is that you're ok. Deer collisions can be much, much worse. Take my word for that. Get a deer coming through your driver's side window and you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. And I wish you the best of luck with the claim and getting some extra cash to sink into the Celi.

Ha yeah i know, it could of been way worse...

and i have Nationwide insurance..

and heres a list of whats wrong with it... Hood is bent in the corner, and has a chip and scratches..
light is demolished... bumper is toast.... and fender is just pushed in/bent where it meets the light..


and i have a 250 dollar deductable

and also, i realized yesterday when it rained that the sunroof wouldn't shut the whole way now, and its
from when the deer landed on it , because it closed perfectly before..

and the only other thing that i'm going to have him check is now it shakes when i get going about 60...
i'm guessing it needs a new alignment or my rim is bent?

but anyways, wish me luck, the adjuster is coming today.. i'm going to be the biggest suck up i can without making
it too noticable.. haha

My bad luck was hitting the truck and it stops there. Everything else was a string of good luck, damage was very minimal (bumper, fender, side marker, low beam, bent strut & bent wheel) I already had a 98 bumper I was gonna swap in cuz they look sexy lolol and I'm waiting on the Megan coilovers I ordered a month ago. And the wheel, I just bought the matching one for the set I already had. And I had great luck finding everything else. the only thing that really sucks is that I can't drive her yet

well thats not too bad then! i'm considering getting some megan coilovers for my celica... let me know how you like them once you start driving them..

The sunroof/shaking could be a bent frame. Check the gap between all the doors/trunk and the body. Make sure they all line up as they should. If not, you're pretty much SOL.

Nationwide is a good company with a few bad people working there. Mostly the underwriters though. Everything should hopefully work out for you.

ha all the gaps seem fine... would of sucked if they weren't...

but it still opens up fine, ( just have to push on the glass to move it.. it just won't come all the way down when closing)

and yeah, my familys had a couple accidents, and the adjusters always seemed generous! ha

so hopefully they still are.. can't wait for him/her to get her!

but srsly, the sunroof problem is common on the 3G, check the forums. or if you're not already a member, go join www.club3g.com. I promise I won't ban you... till atleast after the first week.

Got my check today!!! the repair costs amount were 1849.89.... - my 250 dollar deductable.... i get 1599.89...

not too bad since i just plan on putting in my headlights i bought for 50 dollars and a new front bumper for 150...

ANDddddddddddddddddddddddd i get a rental car for 9 days while i fix it

Good deal. Too bad it wasn't more cash, but at least you managed to source parts for cheap.
