Topic #74864 15 posts Started by JuMPiiN
So i figured id vacume out my car today and finish putting in my interior pieces, thought id snap some pictures while my seats were out of these things... My seats arent electric or heated so i have no idea what these go to.

You would think the iPhone 4 camera would be just a little bit better right ?
maybe it's the sensor for your seat, so the seatbelt light comes on or not? idk?

They are your seat belt sensors outputs. No butt in the seat light comes on!
There isnt a plug in underneath my seats tho ! lol i thought i had heated seats or something at one point.

Aren't those the plugs for the seatbelt buckles?

SHOULD BE. THOSE PLUG INTO YOUR SEATS FOR THE AIRBAGS AND SEATBELT WARNING. THE CONNECTOR IS IN THE MIDDLE/FRONT OF UR SEATS.

I have the same - it is for the doors remote controle (central locking system) module that i have before wink.gif

cheers
Nah, nothing to do with the doors, it really is for the seatbelt sensor.
Guys, listen...I might have just had a breakthrough...is it the seatbelt sensor?

Hahaha, of course it is!
I'm surprised that his dash seat belt light is not on, though.
When I replaced my seats with racing ones I had to cut the connector from the stock ones and solder it in little piggy-loop to get rid of it.

The light only comes on if only your driver side isnt plugged in. The previous owner of my car broke the wires by the belt buckle on the passenger side and the light never came on. It has nothing to do with the airbag system. I just got into an accident and both of them went off.
Speaking of airbags, is it legal to put in your own on/off switch for the passenger side airbag? I'm just curious
Be careful with that if you decide to do that because if you have the wrong resistance the bag may not go off at all or it may even go off accidentaly i would just leave it alone or if you really dont like your airbags disconnect the srs computer >

1. Are cars are not smart enough for that the light is just simply a light either its on or its off.
2. If you didn't have your seat belt on it would be the same as having it unplugged and Im sure toyota wouldn't design an airbag to not go off if you're not buckled in.
