As with all 6GC's my headlight rubber on my right side low beam lens has begun to fall out. I have tried to spread a bit of silicone on it and slip it back over the light, but that didn't hold. I want to pull the whole lens out but I'm not quite sure how they are supposed to come out. I've got the bolt from behind the turn signal, and whatever I can find up top, and it feels loose, but it doesn't come out. Do I have to move the fender or bumper? Does it just slide out? What am I missing?

I could be wrong but the only way i could get my head light out was when i took the bumper off, it kinda slid out away from the engine bay and thats how I got mine out. There could be a way though without it, not sure. But with a stock bumper its only a matter of a few bolts to get the bumper off

The headlights on our cars are tricky. You have to take off the front bumper, after you've done that, there are two bolts underneath the headlight attached to the headlight bracket that you have to take off and the low beams have a pin that's been stuck into a hole in the fender - so you have to pull it towards the high beam, softly but firmly till it pulls out of the hole in the fender, then remove it from behind the crash bar. You'll see what I mean after you take the bumper off.

I'd love to just gorilla glue mine on and get it over with, but I know that'll come back to haunt me in the future via cracked headlight or something similar, so I'm on the search for some clips.

as long as you have one clip at the top of each headlight holding the rubber seal, that's good enough. the other clips only hold the glass lens on the headlamp housing. the rest of the rubber seal is glued on and the main reason the seals tend to loosen or come off is because of having the pressure washer nozzle from the carwash pointed too close to the headlamps which ends up forcing the seal off the factory glue that was holding it in.

i'm in the middle of refinishing my projectors and when all is assembled back together, i'm gonna glue that MF in like there's no tomorrow!

Well, I stayed late after work tonight and pulled the bumper off. I used a high quality silicone caulking that we often use for gasket corners. It holds really well, only it takes a bit to set. It took me about an hour and a half to get it off, and about 40mins to get it back on. Changed the fog light bulbs as I was there.

The only really annoying part about it was that all my plastic shields underneath the car are really butchered at the fastening points, so it's a bit of a hassle to get that back together Also the two bolts by the fog lights took forever and resulted in a nice hand cramp.

Lots of effort for something that nobody but me will notice, but at least that's one thing off the "I should do that sometime" list...
