Topic #75098 10 posts Started by nta3392
i got this celica last year and i really liked it,
it has 195K miles and it has had the basics changed
oil, air filter, and spark plugs,

I probably need to change the rotors?, when i make tight turns i can hear a noise, and also i think i need replace the belt. other than that the cars is stock, and working.

what do you suggest i should buy and install to give this car more life and more power.

yea your 3sgte is cool but ill stick to my 7agte
clean & polish the valve cover and the top of your intake manifold

the noise on turns is probably your CV joints look behind your front tires and see if the rubber boots on the shaft are torn.

edit: typo

the headers give you a little kick, very little. It would be more for sound than anything but still a nice mod if you want it. Can't really push that much out of an ST without a turbo. Doing the basics (intake, header, exhaust) and u'll be just over 100hp maybe. so really up to you. If not save up for a swap. biggrin.gif

the rotors rotate independently from the steering angle so i doubt the rotors is what's making the noises.

it looks like you can use some of that money and buy the splash guards that are missing behind the front bumper and passenger wheel well.

Agreed the headers are more for a sound and visual effect smile.gif. I dont remember what my car drove like before, but I have basically a "full exhaust" headers and a cat-back. And I imagine, it is a little faster...and even if its not, you get some sweet sounds out of a little 7a smile.gif
But as far as those headers (speed daddys) that the same one I have, and if you dont mind spending money then go ahead and get um. But mine I had to bore out all the holes, and cut the end, and weld the cat on, and then extend the piping like a whole foot.
Seeing as you got $1,000 to spend, i would have a service place do it. Although I dont know how much it will run you, as i did it my self. but i can say it was a PAIN!

But Nice Celi smile.gif

I've spilt my heart into this car :) And I don't ever plan to stop- 6GC for Life ->Semper Fi<1994 Cupra :p 3sgte1995 Celica ST DD1969 Chevelle SSalllll balls. P2 approved!
the noise when turning turned out to be a bad outer tie rod end, and found out that the timing belt has plenty of life cause it has been changed

also they told me there was a leak on the exhaust system, in the converter and flex pipe, that would cost me 287$ , do you guys think i can find a better deal?

i'm trying to find clear front bumper signal light, and the side markers too, ebay only has the side marker any links
287 $ ?? Wow... I paid 100$ for my header, then 80$ for the muffler and a 125 for the 2.25 exhaust piping straight back under the axle. 287 is a rip off.
Don't get a fancy intake. I regret it. Although it does sound nice at WOT wink.gif Make your own CAI. Better sound and you actually feel a bit more power. And make sure you get an air bypass valve.

If you want the clear turns for a 94-95, your going to have to drop Wolfie a line. Or get a 96-99 bumper then the clear lights...
