New owner! - 6G Celicas Forums

First things first moved here to tenny from colorado and the third day i was here my 1995 acura integra gsr was stolen so i ended up looking for another car with money i saved for living mind you so i was crunched for money and time.

My family has always been toyota lovers so looked for supras didnt work out well (nothing worth the money)

Found a 1995 toyota celica st for about 2000 posted (long story short talked him down to 1200)

List of problems
  1. Speedometer (MPH) doesnt work (Can't figure this out)
  2. Rust spot on back bumper behind rear driver wheel (wallet sized)
  3. Fender jacked due to accident (Guy didnt really care for this car)
  4. Front bumper same issue (See above)
  5. CV boots need to be replaced (Next check getting this fixed buying new axles)
  6. Head gasket needs to be replaced (Simple fix again next check)
  7. Downshifting from 5th down to 4th hard to do (Trying to figure this out)
  8. Tear in drivers seat (Me whining)
  9. Some bad paint some places (Whining again)
  10. Needs new cam seal (Annoying)
  11. Needs new crankshaft seal (Annoying)
  12. Sidemarker lenses broke (Cant find replacements)
  13. Rubber around headlights very loose (Doesnt even make sense seeing how its tightly fitted in that area)
  14. Engine light comes on when on highway (Thinking its the EGR)


Plans
  1. 200-225HP
  2. Turbo based (Havent decided on keeping the 7A-FE and "turboing" it OR 5S-GE swap and adding a turbo)
  3. Stripped interior (front seats and basic dash)
  4. Full body kit (JDM or Pre-made kit)
  5. Lower it
  6. Full stereo system


But man do i love this car even with all this gets great gas mileage as well as fun to drive...coming from a 337hp GSR [EX]owner!

Looks like you might need a new speed sensor or gauge cluster.
I have parts car that I am parting out. I have the speed sensor and a gauge cluster if you need it.
Also, I do have a good rear bumper and both side markers.
Send me a PM and well talk there.

Thank god for a nice community here when i had the integra i had to deal with team-integra's crap and everybody pushed for me to buy stuff using their group discounts instead of offering anything off their parts cars which they have plenty of but here seems to be alot more of helpful people even more so helpful since moving and getting a car stolen sucks. I'm putting up alot of my stuff from my ST in the buy sell section soon like spoiler, seats etc.

Sucks about the acura! I would be soo pi**ed! If your looking to a big improvement over the ST (which i know is about the slowest car ive ever driven lol) you should look into a Beams or 3SG(T)E, Jim might even have one, and he sells every!thing for a full swap including motor mounts for us ST guys, and he's very honest good guy, i dealt with him smile.gif

But good luck getting her running good smile.gif

Welcome!

Sorry to hear about your Integra. Civics and Integras are the ones crooks are eyeing for.

My friend sold his integra and after a week, it got stolen and they guy wasnt even here; he was on deployment.

thanks for the info i dont need the spoiler but im selling mine lol i have a 2 post...i dont think i wanna go 3sgte would rather stick with a 5s mainly cause i can find them like everywhere and easier swap since for the time being as i just moved here im garage-less lol

ahh lol didnt understand oh well someone will get my spoiler cheap-
id still wait for a 3s swap smile.gif if your going to be swapping anyhow, its not much harder to put in a better engine IMO, but look forward to seeing progress on the project you start

Ya im crunching numbers to see if its even worth doing a turbo on the 7a...looking to be that its not gotta throw in some extra numbers
New used car for travel to work while im doing all this-500 dollars to whatever lol
Renting some place to do all of it-Unknown amount
etc etc etc just red alot more info on the swap and i guess thats what im gonna do 3SGTE here i come!

but if your thinking about turboing ur 7A this is the thread to look into..

Ya would be hard to put that much money into a car and not have boost miss the GSR but the 3sgte seems to be the choice for me guess now my power goals are now 330-340 horse

Gonna do a 3SGTE swap with a MR2 LSD tranny doesnt seem like 300+ on a FWD would be that much fun without a LSD...

well if you want to do the 3sgte look up _Jim_ on the site, he sells the motors and i believeee can find u a tranny as well not positive. send him a PM and talk about ur goals and budget, he will try his best to help u out. i bought my motor set off of him. hes ur best bet bc he sells COMPLETE motor swaps. alot of the stuff u see on ebay have missin parts and ****, he will give u wat u need. jus might have to save up like i did lol
