Keep it mostly stock besides little things like header and coilovers and daily drive / auto x it. I'm going to buy another vehicle at some point and I've decided I just want to enjoy the celica as a reliable dd.
Just kidding, supercharged celica to return in a week or 2.

Very interesting build. Good to see you're putting the supercharger back on.

A parts list would be awsome if i havent just skipped past it. Did you have it dynoed after the smaller pulley and fmic? When its make up and running take me for a ride.

Parts list is pretty much on my profile (or whatever that's called). I didn't get to dyno it after the pulley change and fmic. I'm ditching the fmic though and keeping the smaller pulley. From the research I've done, I don't think the pressure drop from the intercooler and extra piping is worth is. The charge air isn't as hot as a turbo. I also had some compressor surge with the intercooler which I didn't like. Also have gone to a more stock-like exhaust, but still should flow alright. We're supposed to meet in Wilmington on the 19th. I just hope the toyota MLS head gasket will hold up to the boost better than the other one I had. It has been running great since I put it in. I'll get some pics up soon.

Glad to hear it lives AJ and that you'll be posting some more pics soon.

Whats the details on willmington. Like to see if i could make it. That is alot of volume to fill with an intercooler. And i guess depending on the intercooler you would get some surge. Good to hear it was the head gasket and not a piston with a hole in it.
Still need to find my pix of the blown head gasket and new MLS head gasket installed, but here's some others.

Ready for work

Piping mocked up

After the test drive, had to set my drink down to take the pic..not intended to be that way

So far I'm pretty please, it seems to be running really well.
How's that tiny honda radiator working for you? Might that have been the cause of the HG failure? I'm interested in having more space in my bay for other stuff and if it's working OK I might try it... I'm afraid our stock ones are so much larger that the smaller ones might not cut it for daily/traffic jam driving.

The car never overheated or anything, so I don't think there's any connection there. The stock ST radiator isn't that big. The core is pretty small and this radiator is a lot thicker. It has worked great so far and I think I mentioned earlier that it will fit with stock radiator hoses.
I'd feel dirty rocking a Honda part. kindasad.gif

Still a great setup though, I'm fairly sure you're the only active 7A-FZE. If you're ever letting go of those parts and moving on to another engine, I'd love to take the whole kit off your hands.

Haha, thanks. It's not a Honda part. It's just listed on ebay as acura/honda half radiator.

So i guess your buying the rounds saturday night then?

Cant wait to see how you managed to make the supercharger fit.
Im using the same radiator on my turbo 7a been running good for like 2 months nows. Nvr over heated so far. Might I ask how much you paid for the mls 7a hg? I'm looking into getting some genuine Toyota parts for my rebuild(other than my pistons and Rods)
I'm not sure. I just bought the head gasket "kit" from toyota. Which includes your other other top end gaskets (intake, exhaust, throttle body..etc). I want to say that was about $160.
Hows the car running aj? Any updates?
boo you didn't show us the speedometer!!

It's about a 5 to 65 run. I pull through first and second and into third.

This is dirty dirty.
So did you tune on your own? Is there any tuning? Considering some form of boost with my beams of no more than 5 psi.... electric powered S/C or something. So tuning at all? new dyno results? Did you really ditch the FMIC?
thats awesome I'd like to supercharge the beams motor. not going to spend the $6k but it would great

No tuning, just a 2bar map sensor and 315cc injectors. No new dyno results, it's somewhat embarrassing to bring the car there. Even if it made 200hp, people don't understand it only came with 110, so you just get " rolleyes.gif that's it?". I did ditch the FMIC. It's a fun setup, but it's not enough power, especially up against a 3sgte. Ben's (bsamps4) car ate mine for breakfast. I think I'm going to play with it in the winter, either rwd or awd twin charged.

Still cool as chips. Twin charged would be fantastic, I feel like the 7A would respond really well to that.

Do we need to play the highlights video aj? It seems you beat ben *cough fuel cut cough* i wonder how much more you could squeeze of your setup with a built head.

Haha, that was luck. It could make a lot more if it was a 4a head and a built bottom end, but not worth it in my opinion.
Don't be disheartened because u were beat by a 3sgte, you have what it takes to beat a 3sgte. I'm sure that setup is capable of 250hp with tuning and intercooler and better piping, that motor and that ST car should be alot lighter than a GT/3sgte chassis so theres your advantage if you can match the power

I say grab a extra 7a head get it built find a,smaller intercooler an get her tuned real good an see what she makes thwm

I have a small intercooler, but it seemed to respond better without it. The 7a is no performance engine, I could do a lot more to it, but it's just a waste as far as I'm concerned. It's like polishing a piece of sh**, at the end of the day it's still a piece of sh**. I wanted to see if I could make it work and it does. But, I'm capable of building a much better car..so I'm not going to keep the thing that's holding it back in there. The next step is to make A LOT more power. The car is only for fun now, not for my daily transportation. I appreciate the feedback, good ideas, just not the direction I want to go.
