Can I use the whole 3sgte clutch kit with the 5SFE Transmission? I think I remember reading somewhere it could, but now I can't find it...

you will need a 3s flywheel and pressure plate, and 5s clutch disk.
most of the companies will make you a custom 3s disk with 5s spline if you call them.

which company do you suggest getting the costume Clutch kit from?
www.dxdracingclutches.com will make this clutch for you. ask for Andy in the imports dept.

out of curiosity, why cant a 3sgte clutch disk work in the 5s? it seemed to fit fine.

the splines of the input shaft on the transmission are slightly different.

has anybody bougt a clutch set from Spec clutchs, they have an application for this exact swap and was wondering if the company makes quality parts

spec disks tend to spit the springs out of them, i've seen 2 cases first hand, and heard about lots of others.

I had a spec stage three on my 2nd gen 3sgte with stock GT tranny. worked awesome. But i only ran this for maybe 3k tops before parting with the car, so i couldnt tell you if how it was in the long term. But for those 3k it was awesome.
