I also need to take the shifter off (I posted this in the interior section) to slide in that stupid plastic cover (I have an automatic) but am stuck doing so. Currently I have all the seats, and the part where the arm rest goes off and out of the car, and have taken off all the interior console bezels and the screws under them. But I still can't get to the bolts that hold the shifter knob on. Any help would be AWESOME cuz I'm kinda stuck...

If I know mistaken the shifter knob should screw off if you have a manual... I am not sure about an automatic...
