Veilside Vs Vis - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #7575 16 posts Started by CelicaB
Well, ive started my christmas list >smile.gif> and i've noticed about equal number of veilside and vis kits...
i was really wondering if veilside will fit much better on my coupe then vis?? or will it be about the same? also i want duribility and all that too would veilside be better in that department?
i really wanted to make sure im getting more for my money cause if i can put that money somewhere else (like back in my pocket >rolleyes.gif> ) that would be nice!
so is veilside the way to go or will vis be just as good and cheeper? thanks for your replies in advance!
If your parents are paying for it - Veilside. If you have a limited fund - VIS. Veilside will fit better and will be made out of better material, but if this was PERSONALLY coming out of my pocket I would be going with VIS (or any other knockoff - CyberBestBuy.com) When I get a kit I'm not even CONSIDERING Veilside because of price. It's better to have a body shop fit the VIS kit then to get the near-perfect Veilside

i am awesome
I have Vis and have been quite happy about it. They're made out of the same stuff just more time and effort is put into Veilside. It may have a lil more fiber glass than VIS, and the mold is done to a better degree, but VIS is in no way crappy. Erebuni on the other hand, blows goats.

don't get veilside. its a waste of money, especially if you have to modify the rear to fit your coupe. instead, spend the extra on a good install.
well, what all do you have to do to get the coupe rear to fit? i heard u have to cut it in half take about an inch or so out and glass it back together? <--that dont seem too hard

and how much does the average install cost i know a guy, but i think he's crazy lol it took him 8 weeks to finish his sons car (just for him to total it in a week and a half later) but thats kinda why i wanted to do it myself...

and thats why i asked vis Vs Veilside cause i figured if it was better fitment, quality and all that it would save me a few headaches plus u can alway just say its authentic Veilside and ppl around here will be like" ohhhhh" then u tell them u did it urself - "ahhh" lol j/k but that really was what i was basing my question on.. thanks again!

I got my veilside kit a few years back and regret it everyday. For as expensive as it was I figured it would fit nice, but I was WRONG. The front fit horribly, the rear fit like crap, but the sidskirts went on nice. Veilside told me it was because it was designed for the japanese version.

YEah they said it had something to do with the design as far as collision is concerned. They j spec has a bar that we dont. But of coarse they told me this after I purchased it ans was having it installed. They offered me a free shift knob as compensation.
Dude, go with the Vis, its cheaper, fundamentally the same thing, and i believe ViS makes a rear bumper that fits the coupe. Don't quote me on that but i remember hearing that somewhere.
