heyall...i have a 99 celi. What options do we celicans have when it comes to custom tail Lights..."apart from making changes to our existing stock ones".
Tail Lights - 6G Celicas Forums
Well if you have a coupe, you have about ZERO options aside from the Curren tails which are hard to get and expensive. The HB has the aftermarket circle tails which look like garbage, and JDM tails for the HB are on ebay all the time, but also, quite expensive.
We got shafted in the aftermarket department.

there's a company in the uk who're possibly going to make afterburner style lights...

the pic doesn't show the proper colour match as yet as they're prototypes.

there are no altezzas, but you might want to consider the clears made by fallenhero
no altezzas, no euros. all thats made for the hatch is the ST205 lights, and those afterburner things. other than that you are on your own.

that is sad...wonder why we got left out.. >

Well, I don't think any kind of altezzas/euros would look good on our cars, I'd have to see. Sixth gens never really got popular, probably because the engines weren't considered very tuneable, like Hondas. Now, the 7th gens, imo, look good with euros.

Here are two better pictures. The one Ghost posted up was... unfinished. >

how much do they cost....
Is there no one interested in making custom euro altezza style tails lights for the celi, cant we ask some manufacturer, if there is a bulk order...

Well....it is probably hard to design a really nice one for our cars and even if you did create one you would have to see how it would look in real life.
PLUS, you have to guage interest in it and not everyone here is interested in altezzas, but maybe another style like jaguar style or JDM curren style

it's would cost a company around 100k just to make a D O T approved proto type ... so it would take a few hundred people for them to make the anything ... cause it always cames down to how much money they can make..

The JDM ones that come for the s2000 are cool too, i think thy would look good ono a celi..

you could do what im doin and have em painted same color as the car but with translucent paint. ill get pics up as soon as i get the car back. almost looks like the tails are just part of the car and not a separate piece.

IMO...all-red tail lights (painted by ourselves) is better than buying clear tail lights
i did that, but that glossy finish does not seem to be present....i used clear coat.. >

I think i might have thickly coated the candy apple red part..
can i undo n redo...

about the redoing, it'd be difficult but i suppose it's possible. it would require a whole lot of paint thinner, rubbing, and the passing out every once in awhile from the fumes lol. and dude, im not talking about redding out my tail lights. im talking about getting them painted so they look opaque like the rest of the car yet light shines through.
what kind of paint...same as the car body paint...
Is that legal...light might not be visible during the day.

my body guy did it on his GTP but in black. shines through just fine, we'll see though, hes doin it really thin too, the paint is translucent.

Actually these look kinda cool, maybe whenever they get made I'll order me a pair, they would be different >
