>Sad to hear, Mike. I got to a point like that with mine several years ago, but I didn't have rust issues. You can't go wrong with a well kept WRX though.

Totally forgot to mention that I'm not getting rid of the car though...laugh.gif My bad.

Just going to be off the road for a few years while I restore / build it. It's at the point where it's not worth fixing things because I'm going to be swapping it and building it. I have to do all the gas lines, get stuff for the gas tank, replacing both rear brake lines, replace the rear calipers, suspension bushings all around, fix the passenger side sub frame mount, and just so many other little things.
I just started to question all the stuff that needs replacing because I'll probably end up having a fuel cell, which then it wouldn't make sense to replace the fuel lines and stuff for the tank. It's going to be AWD so why replace the calipers if I won't need them in a couple years? It came down to why buy all these new parts when I won't be needing them in the near-ish future? I would just be wasting money at that point.

A lot of my friends have WRX's and they're really nice cars....and they're fun to drive wink.gif
yup, dont replace that now, to replace later, smart thinking. might as well save that money for the real deal, since you live up north, it might be a good idea to blast the parts you will keep, and repaint them while the car is down.

Should've kept one of those many clean shells you scraped and transfer the parts over. But hey, can't go wrong with an awd dd man!

None of them were clean though, that's why I didn't keep them.
The silver one was a complete rust bucket, the blue one had a smashed quarter and a decent amount of rust underneath too (busted brake lines, rotting fuel lines), the red one was rusting out in the rockers and other areas, and the last one was rotting around the windshield and had rust in all the usual spots.

I wouldn't have wanted to transfer the parts over anyway, this one is my baby and will always be my baby.
I could have swapped things over to a different one and drove it, but it still would have problems, just like any car this age.
Mainly, I need something reliable that I can take on long trips and commute to school with, and that has a lot of cargo room cause I always end up borrowing my parents car since nothing fits in the Celica.
short and sweet. parts and more parts. good day.
Almost completely forgot, but March 9th was the 4 year anniversary with this pretty lady and I.

In other news, finally got around to taking the valve cover off the 1mz.
Doesn't look too bad for having 250,000 miles on it!

You're doing a v6 swap too? Awesome. Lol.

No, that's too much effort right now. I'll be saving that engine to be built at some point in the future.
Have something else coming for right now.
I see. So it's a possible future swap. I was looking into it and still is but can't do much with just one car that I need to drive everyday. Lol.

This is part of the reason I haven't and probably won't do a swap any time soon. That and I don't have a garage lol.

There's definitely some foreshadowing in this picture.
Stay tuned cause there's more to come in about a month.

Oh and I do have OEM rear splitters on the way. They're just somewhere in one of the oceans on a cargo ship from Japan right now.
i see the rear susp bolts. lol, good luck. i put some antiseize on the new ones i placed..

yeeeupp, redoing all the suspension.

My next purchase in this overhaul is going to get a little delayed cause I just purchased a new laptop.
Mine is almost 5 years old now and can barely handle running Chrome and, say Photoshop, without almost maxing out the CPU.
So I bought an Asus ROG Laptop from Best Buy. From what I've read, the specs of it out perform a base model Macbook Pro and it's the same price.
Quite an investment, but definitely well worth it since I picked up a second job doing some editing for products and my current computer can't handle Lightroom without bogging... lol

Stuff will be on hold, for now. Should have another update in June though. smile.gif
Cool. Front susp is easier than rear

Not the update I was talking about back in May cause it's for something completely different, but I did this:

I put it on the understeer one to see how still it would be and it feels like I could kick it if I took a sharp turn lol I cant wait to see what the over steer setting feels like.
Put aside all the bullsh!t and dreamlike state I was in for a while with that V6 AWD TT sh!t.
This is where things are going.

Cam (ted95) now has the 1mz. He took it cause I needed room for this and the e154f that he traded me for the engine.
