Tips on Gauge Pod install - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #75970 5 posts Started by Soulend
Hey everyone,

I'm Working a 3S-GTE swap, and I'm getting down to the last bit of parts I need to the swap.

I recieve my Gauges and pod this week and as I was mocking it up, I noticed that the plasic piece it would be (at least I was thinking) replacing, was a lot longer than the pod...

So I was wondering, out of you who I have swapped a turbo in and used a pod like this, how did you mount it? did you just drill into the plastic that is there? or did you cut the original and mold the pod with the rest of the plastic?

I'm at a lost at what to do... heh

thanks for your Input,
Kevin
you usually just attach it to the existing plastic (screw it in), molding it would take a decent amount of time, but it would be doable
Pull out the existing pillar, screw the triple pod to the pillar using small screws and flat nuts, snap the stock pillar back in place. Make sure short screws are used, to long and the pillar won't snap back on.

I will return one day.
I'm looking into some sort of fastener so it it looks a little cleaner, I haven't found anything that won't get in the way of the a pillar and trim.

Anyone tried rivets? They usually look clean...
