So basically I picked up a full body kit. I was looking for some help to see if anyone can give me the steps about painting it. Help Please!!! P.S THe kit is fiberglass. Side skirts, front and back bumper. My car is like a gunmetal grayish color.
Got a Body Kit. Now what? - 6G Celicas Forums
paint it or take it to a paint shop
First off do not paint it first, the first thing you need to do is actually bolt it onto the can and ensure that it fits right, if not, get the bondo and fiberglass out, then paint if

What type of kit is it? Alot of kits dont fit right, so if ur looking for perfection as said above▲▲▲ get the bondo for some slight reshaping (DO NOT paint it before you put it on, you'll scratch it almost guaranteed)
I originally got a price from my macco and they said bout 150 bucks to paint the kit, which is really good imo. It may not match exactly just due to the age difference of the paint on the car already. Painting ur self will cost about the same, or more if you dont have the "tools"

Bring it to a body shop and get estimates on paint price and fitment repairs, painting a car/parts is not as easy as people think if you want it done right just bring it to a body shop and save yourself the hassle to paint the car/parts you would need a strong air compressor, paint guns, paint supplies, paint, etc....and a lot of patience if its your first time and just for the supplies and tools your looking at almost 2k+ including a compressor I'm talking about quality parts/tools not the cheap stuff they sell at pepboys.

Yeah painting is very expensive on your own. But most places (at least around me) will not put on a bodykit, and one more custom place I found was charging 700 for the install, and the prices went crazy! when it came to blending the kit.
The install I not all that hard with a little patience, but painting go professionally. Macco is cheap and (ask around) most are decent places

There is a reason that macco is cheap, but as said most places will not install a body kit, and if they do they will charge you out the ass to do so.
just do it yourself, take your time and learn how to do it yourself, you will save money
