3sgte downpipe - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #77005 11 posts Started by black13
So I finally ordered a nice cat-back exhaust and now looking for a front pipe/downpipe but having hard time finding them for the ST205. Aussie one is expensive and limited right now, only place I found selling it said 3-4 week wait time. So anyone know any other place you can order a decent one? has anyone tried any of the ebay ones? Or do you guys recommend just getting a custom one made locally? Would 2nd gen 3sgte or 3rd gen MR2 ones fit the st205 without any modifications?
From what members here say, hands down the best downpipe out there for 3sgte engine:
Berk Technology (click)

In 2nd place, I'd say: EMS Powered (click)

Best advice is to steer clear of ebay ones as they cannot even compare to the quality of the Berk Tech one

good luck

I'd say go custom like I did and make sure they make a proper elbow like the TTE rally ones that we made.
See the difference here.
how much is your downpipe ? do you ceramic coat it and is it possible to keep the alternators air scoop with your dpipe ? im assuming 3 in?

Thanks. The berk one looks great and seems to have the improved sleeve that yellowchinaman was saying. Has a flex pipe built in though and my front pipe already has a flex pipe in it.

Gonna ask around see how much a custom one would go for locally before I decide.
if you are asking if a 2nd gen 3s will fit a 3rd gen 3s turbo? NO it will not the bolt pattern is different.

other than that I have a Berk 3" on mine... and its really nice...

They will both fit. The bolt pattern is the same.
The only difference is that the ct20b has an extra stud that you remove to use it with a 2nd gen down pipe.

just as a note here, the gen2 downpipe on a gen 3 will move the location of the outlet on the DP over a couple inches.
if you have a stock gen3 exhaust, or aftermarket gen3 setup aready, the bpipe will be off.

:edit: also agree with stevenson about the flex.
the berk pipe is without a doubt the best 3" DP on the market for the ct26/20b

that extra flex pipe is to avoid cracking your downpipe over time, having a second flex pipe in your exhaust system will not cause any issues, actually it will put less stress on the whole exhaust piping as it has 2 flex points to release engine movement stress.

thanks for the info. Gonna place order once they get back to me on shipping. Hate using UPS.
