Power folding mirror - electric adjustment + mirror holder - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #77184 6 posts Started by quick_5hifter
Hello!

I had a recent little accident, someone broke my driver's side mirror (LHD) and I can't find the part number for it... the problem is that I've changed my original mirrors to power folding, electrically adjustable mirrors from a RHD Celica, so if I order the part by chassis number, the mirror will be only electrically adjustable + heated.

Second problem, after the guy hit my mirror, he also "modified" the shape of the window "holder" (that metal + rubber triangular piece that is attached to the door, with 3 holes, that the mirror is screwed onto... I couldn't find the part number written on it and also I couldn't find the part number on Toyodiy, neither in the "door" section nor the "mirror" section.

Please help me with the part numbers, I don't trust the mechanical shop to order the parts because it's not the first time they come up with a wrong part.

Thanks alot!
your best bet will be to look in ebau for used ones, or members here parting. the mirrors might still be available, but the triangle shape no.

Learned a lot in 10 years...I hardly log in anymore, last loginToday Sept 6 2019, and I was forced just to clarify a post. LOLIf you PM me and I dont respond, dont fret or cry. Im alive, better post your questions in the thread below, maybe I log back in2grfe Swapped...Why I chose the 2GR, before you ask read here...A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within.@llamaraxing in Instagram is the best way to find me. I hardly log here anymore.
Yes I know, the triangle is only available if you want to buy an entire door frown.gif I mean the junkyards, not the stores. Nobody agreed to sell me that triangle only.
About the mirror, I'm not looking to buy one, just to indicate the part number to the mechanic... because the damage costs will be supported by an insurance company. A brand new mirror, NOT power folding and NOT heated, costed me over 300$ on the passenger side, 1 year ago... japanese and US imported parts are pretty expensive here...
If I had to pay for a mirror, I would probably use my old mirrors which are not power folding, or worst case - buy a set of aftermarket mirrors.

If I won't find out the part numbers, I'll probably use a hammer for that triangle and just order a manual folding mirror.

Oh, by the way, did anyone compare the mechanism of a power folding mirror to a manual folding mirror? Because if they have the same "chassis", perhaps I could mount the power folding mechanism to a manual folding "chassis".
Note: the "wounded" mirror's "chassis" is broken in half.
My car is at the mechanic's garage right now and I don't have access to it until it's totally fixed (otherwise I would have compared the mirrors myself).

Not to throw this off topic, but we have heated mirrors? or is it not on US cars?
do you mean the modulator? show me a pic...i think i might have it.
No, I don't mean the modulator (I'm assuming you are reffering to the switch on the door, near the window switch). If there is another part that I don't have (that modulator), I really need that part.
What I meant was: the folding "engine" (motor) from a power folding mirror... will it fit inside a manual folding mirror, with no (or little) adjustments?
