stock amp for doors and rear speakers - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #77340 10 posts Started by azn87
i want to know if i can use the stock amp for the door and rear speakers with an aftermaket headunit. i have a alpine w900bt (double din, navi, dvd, and bt)
i also have a sub with a alpine m450 amp and a type R sub
let me rephrase my question.

ive installed my new head unit but i want to use the stock amp for what it was intended for with the stock head unit, i dont want to buy a aftermarket amp with multichannel just for the doors and rear speakers.
Does the stock amp not work with your headunit?And your headunit cant power the speakers?

good question cuz my subs are producing too much bass..but i dont want to get another amp for the stock speakers lol
You want your speakers to produce more bass? Honestly how can you tell where the bass if coming from if you have a sub? Koda, there is most likely controls on the amp to turn down the bass.
all you need is an amp integration harness for your new headunit: Metra 70-8112.
this will let you use any aftermarket headunit to work with your factory amp(s).

the stock amp, I'm guessing, puts out the same amount of power as an aftermarket radio/ head unit.
That's why you can take the stock amp out when you have an after market head unit.
If you want more bass then get some sub woofers.
