Insurance on turbo? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #7739 7 posts Started by slipgun
I was curious who if anyone insured their ST celica with a turbo, or just not tell the insurance company? what are ways of this i am dreaming of turbo but I have no idea what kinda insurance increase this will do, my parents would have a fit if I dint tell the insurance company and im not lookin forward to paying more in my insurance.
One major problem about not telling them about it is if you get in a major wreck, they might not pay for the damages to any of the added parts if you hadn't told them about it. That would tough if you dropped all your money into the turbo and then got in wreck and then insurance told you they wouldn't give you any money to fix it.

So again to any with a turbo Celica (not stock) how much did your insurance go up?
telling insurance companies that you added a turbo is shooting yourself in your foot.

either they will cut you off or double you insurance

well you could not till them and if nothing ever happens your fine.. but if you get into a wreck and they find out you had upgraded the engine that might void your insurance and they wouldn't pay for anything... read your insurance carefully to see if you have to report something like that..

Ok, same question, but for a body kit? Obviously insurance rates would go up if you wanted to insure the kit [pieces] as well, but if you have just the stock car insured, and don't tell them that you have a body kit.. they go to check out the crash scene and see your mangled, shattered fiberglass all over the place.. could they potentially drop your coverage right there, since you hadn't told them about it?

even if they didn't drop your coverage, you'd still be out all the money for the body kit
Heck... insurance companies won't pay for anything as it is...

Even if you were stopped at a red light and got rear-ended....
