Topic #77480 26 posts Started by 3WayStunna
Havent seen a tire thread up here on 6GC within recent memory..Just wondering what everyone "runs" and what they use them for.
Myself, i currently have 225/45/17 RE050's for my DD tires, touge and track..... thumbsup.gif

How my car currently sits

I also have some 215/45/17 star specs i use to rally/or "mud-driving"..... tongue.gif
I plan to upgrade to some 245/40/17's (RE050 pole positions) for tracking only coming up here soon..

What all does everyone else run??

At this point my baby is a DD so she's rolling on 215/45/17 Altimax HPs. I haven't pushed them very hard but so far they haven't let me down in snow, rain, or ice.

once i get it on the road i will lol. exhaust will be here tom
I ran KU36's for a while and they were amazing, although the treadwear wasn't, lasting around 17k lol.

Now I have Federal 595SS 225/45/17 and they are very good for the money ($100 a side which in Australia is dirt cheap, usual 17's in that class are around $200)

In the process of looking up some daily tyres for my 15's, thinking RE001's.
I run on Michelin Pilot Exalto 2 205/50R16. Very pleased with them in both dry and wet conditions. thumbsup.gif

225/45r17 Nitto Neogens. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE I'm very disappointed in these tires. Compared to my last set of all seasons they have horrible traction in all conditions, very soft sidewalls, and the unusual tread pattern makes the car want to pull all over the place. Definitely going back to Bridgestones or Dunlops after these.

pirellis p4, never even knew how bad ass they were until i went to a meet and someone was like i wish i had those tires lol. they are good.
About to purchase Conti ExtremeContact DW in 225/45/17...or 205/50/16. wink.gif

Yeah, this summer I plan to take them up into the NC/TN mountains and get them hot.

Toyo Proxes R1R - 205/50/R15

I'd recommend these tires to anyone!
Neuton 225/40/18 - yes i know there budget tires they came with my car.
Continental Extreme Contact 205/40/17

They wear well and ride nicely. They are pretty terrible in any amount of snow or slush, but stick well in the rain.
Winter(Now): 195/65/15 Studded Snow Tires, dk what brand, don't care as long as they keep it from sliding all over the place, which they have done so far and i have been able to drive to 2ft
snow banks at the end of my driveway after a storm on my way to work biggrin.gif

Any Other Time: 205/55/15 summer tires, have to get a new set this spring as the past fall was the end of my Yokohama Avid V4s', i used them for 2 years for daily driving and occasionally

Snow tyres are 185/65R14 Dunlop sp winter response they are good in all conditions and don't produce to much sound.

Summer tyres on the back are 215/40R17 Yokohama S Drive wich are good in both wet and dry conditions tyre wear is good.
On the front i have 205/40R17 Sumo Firenza they are good if it's dry and horrible if it's wet and they just last to long, want to get Yoki's for the front to but i want to wait till these are worn out.
Continental Conti Extreme Contact 205/55/15's. I love them, they're great in the rain, pretty good in the snow, and great on dry roads. Running them on the stock GT rims mounted to my ST.
Federal SS595 up front... 205/40r-17

Maxxis something-or-other out back... 235/40r-17

Good traction with the maxxis tires, but not the prettiest tread pattern. When I burn through them i'll have a pair of SS595's put on.
