Car won't start! - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #77508 9 posts Started by Mycurse180

Hi guys,

The car has started turning over kinda slow the last two days when starting it.
Go outside today and it will not start. It has enough battery power for lights etc, and the starter will make a rapid clicking noise, but she won't turn over. Any ideas?!
Check your battery connections to make sure they're tight and free of corrosion, then have someone jump you. Sounds like you just have a bad connection, though.

Definitely a battery issue. I've had my car do the exact same thing when the battery died. I open the door, all interior lights came on, door dinger went off, I turned my headlights on, so I thought everything was normal, then I went to start the car and everything died. As 95CelicaST said, check your connections and maybe charge the battery/jump the car.

yeah clean the battery terminals. start with that, then start looking into replacing the starter. the brushes might be going out

If it were the starter going out, wouldn't you just get the one click, not a continuous clicking?

The juice is just low man, told you the same thing in my PM. Just try jumping or charging it and it should start right up
Thanks for the speedy responses all of you.

Gave it a jump and she fired right up. Off to buy a new battery...

I got a new one. I just picked this car up and the battery looks so old school. Got a new one in and all is good.

Car still doesn't pull after 4000 rpms though. Wish I knew wtf is wrong with it.
