hey guys i went in for a coolant flush a few days ago and before that it was warm out so i turned the heat dial to the cold part and my temp gauge went to cool. i went in fo a coolant flush and i doubt they did the flush sence there was no drops of coolant anywhere in the engine bay. but now it is still doing it. does anyone know what this could be cause by so i can fix it.

I think I got this. He was cruising around one warm day and decided to turn the temp knob to max cool. Then the water temp gauge dropped. Went in for a coolant flush, and the water temp is still reading below the halfway (nominal) mark.
??
there won't necessarily be coolant drops in the engine bay if they did a quality flush. Does your engine temp go back up when you turn the dial back to heat?

and schooot, yea it goes back to normal when the heat is on, but it still floats around a bit, but it will not! over heat.

When you turn the A/C on, the secondary fan should come on to help cool both the condenser and the radiator, I really wouldn't worry about it.

If you want to come out this weekend, I'll actually be putting in a new radiator b/c I overheat when I turn the A/C on.....

i dont understand how turning the heater on makes the engine run warmer than not having it on. -- should be the opposite

either way i'd be flushing the engine, the heater core and replacing the thermostat

I think the thermostat is out. Mine would fluctuata also before I changed it. What seems to be
hapnin when you turn to cool(closed) the water travels less of a path thus warms up more,
then open or turn temp up water flws through inside of car cooling it more. On a downhill my car temp would go all the. Way down. Sorry bout spell phone is terrible writing
ya i bet your thermostat is bad
