i juss got back an emal from a company dat makes bigger more powerful alternators. they gave me 3 models dat fit my car. the price range is from $ 350 to 550. plus i need adaptor brackets $50 and adaptor plugs $35. would u consider this too expensive?
bigger alternators again - 6G Celicas Forums
When I was looking at alternators the prices started around 400 for 'upgraded' types. So that sounds about reasonable.
what was the amperage rating on those alternators?
The ones I was looking at started at 120 amp and could go up to 210(for $800). I believe the 150 amp was the $400 one.
What does a bigger alternator do? Whats the Adv of having one?
nothing if u dont have stuff like : TV's, Subs, Game Systems and what not. Anything that might need elec. your car can't handle.

let us know where to get one, i could use a bigger one the stock manual transmission one isn't enough and i don't think the auto's 10-20 more amps is gonna help me out much.

First is the 20-250-43G-1G ($392.00) rated @ 150Amps "HOT" (185Amps "COLD") next is the 20-275-43G-1G ($454.00) rated @ 175Amps "HOT" (210Amps "COLD") and last is the 20-300-43G-1G ($534.00) rated @ 200Amps "HOT" (240Amps "COLD"). All three require an adapter bracket kit ($50.00) and an adapter plug ($35.00) for the install. Should you have anymore questions, just call our tech support @ 760-956-7596 or email us.
