Out of pure curiousity why would you want to do this? Not to dog on your idea or anything, but TMIC is less practical when compared to FMIC

i am awesome
i want to put a gt4 style hood on my car and i would like to make that scoop useful by putting an IC there
is the scoop there just to release hot air not bring in cold.

please correct me if i'm wrong.

the 3sgte in the gt4 has the IC right there where the scoop is so i figured thats what it is for. corect me if i am wrong.

yup, most people still take it to the front though. TMIC soaks up a lot of engine heat (heat rises)

i am awesome

My 3SGTE is in my engine bay (...still doing the wiring) and i put my GT4 hood on, and

JUST TO TELL YOU GUYS WHO HAVEN"T REALLY SEEN IT IN PERSON

IT is a HOOD VENT and not a SCOOP.

PLUS to jmastaniza the vent does not go over the TMIC it is below it over the turbo and turbo manifold. The vent is probably to disperse all the heat that the turbo causes.
i plan to try to do the TMIC just because its less piping and stuff. also if u hit sumthing or a rock hits ur FMIC that sucks thats alot of money waisted. ill keep it out of the way. just my .02

yeah i am sticking with my TMIC, but for FMIC.....rocks hitting it, you could put a grill, and there are some other stuff that protects it, plus the cores are usually pretty protected
Thanks for clarifying that for me
