Snow tires for sure, undercoating in places that use road salt.

I find driving a m/t in the snow can be ****ty, so I usually just start moving and go into second right away, that worked with my mx-3 pretty good to reduce spinnage.

Brake really early in the snow and keep your distance, because most people dont think about it but if you are rear ended and endup getting pushed into the person infront of you because you didnt leave enough room then you'll get charged and have to pay for there damage/insurance for the person in front.
Wrong forum, btw. As for my tips-

Try not to drive in snow as much as possible, because nothing will rot your car out faster than snow and salt/sand that they use on the roads. Always try to hit up a car wash after a big snow storm and get as much road grit off as you can.

Also, driving on snowy roads is dangerous anyway, so when youre driving in the snow always keep a large distance between cars because you never know when you might loose traction. Be aware of everyone/everything around you and drive defensively, and use your head. I always keep my car in one gear like 2nd on really bad roads and 3rd on kinda messy roads.

Other than that, just keep your car in really good running condition so you dont get stuck somewhere and make sure your tires are inflated properly to their normal pressure....you need all the grip you can get.

Also, if you live somewhere really rural like i do, find a really quiet spot and do some e-brake donuts in the road where there arent any trees/people/cops. >biggrin.gif>

On top of the distance thing, let the car warm up. I learned the hard way that valve springs don't like high rpms before they get warm(old car broke a rocker arm because I got in and was on the highway doing 80 less than a minute later in -10 degree weather). I generally let the needle get just above the bottom line before I even take off, and try to keep it under 3k rpms untill the engine fully heats up.

Other than that, just take it slow. Treat snow the same as you would sand/gravel/dirt.
Dont get nailed by some kids throwing snowbalss get ratlled and hit the brakes on a turn and almost hit some parked cars. >rolleyes.gif> The bastards got me. >mad.gif>
Find a very large, empty parking lot with snow on it and practice, see when your car breaks loose, just how fast you can turn and stop, (and a few E-Brake turns!) then take it home and put it in the Garage and drive a $300 beater...
fill the gas tank often, keeps moisture out and gives u weight
and to top it off- when the snow melts away - DONT FORGET THERE IS STILL SAND ON THE ROAD- i learned that one the hard way.....
