can I use a gen2 turbo on a gen3? does eveything mount up? - 6G Celicas Forums

Hey guys, I just wanted to know if the manifold and downpipe mounts line up with the gen3 if I use a gen2 turbo.

I have a gen3, need a turbo, and I have an old blitz downpipe that I think is from a gen2, I don't remember where I got it, but I'm almost positive it's from a gen2. If the downpipe is interchangeable between the gen2 and gen3 then I'll be happy. I read that the ct20b has 7 studs and the ct26 has 6, in order for it to fit you have to remove one of the studs? Can someone verify this?

ok, and the stock gen2 turbo will mount to my gen3 manifold as well?

I would go for a CT 20 the 2nd gen runs out of breath up top

What I think when you think I care
I would stick with ct20 if you can get one. I blew my ct20 turbo. Exhaust exploded. I borrow a buddy CT26 and there is a huge different in power. Lack of power in top in. I have a 3rd gen 3sgte swap in my celica. I've just order my new turbo kit, should be coming soon. I'll be posting more information on this kit on my tread. If your interest in a aftermarket setup vs Oem.
Anybody ever try the ATS CT27? I'm looking at replacing my 20b for one of those.
the CT20B performs better than the CT27, this has been prooven.
