Hey Brother; check out the stickies... tons of information:
http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=69180 Look under the header, "Wheels, Rims, & Tires" - should be able to answer everything you need about offset, wheel & tire size, etc.
GL! And post your new rims when you get 'em!

215/50R16 is the stock size tyre
the stock size rim is 16x7.5 with
5x100 PCD, 1.5mm Thread Pitch, ET45 offset,
215/45R17 is a very very close match in in rolling diameter.
I run 225/50ZR16 Toyo tyres on my GT4 on the stock wheels which is fine on stock suspension, but when I lowered it, the tyres rubbed the springs in the rear so I run 15mm spacers back there (It only needed an extra 5mm clearance).
To run 215's or 225's, a wheel should be 7 - 7.5" wide, and if going with the wider option I'd recommend a wheel with an ET35 or ET30 to push the wheels out from the guards away from scrubbing the springs.
Also be aware of deep dish rims which may give you the right offset but wont clear the gt4 calipers.
Rolling diameters:
--------------------
215/50R16 (stock) - 621.28 mm
215/45R17 - 625.09 mm
225/50R16 - 631.19 mm
225/45R17 - 634.23 mm
Hope this helps.
Any wheel lower than ET30 may require guard rolling in the rear (the inner lip needs to be folded up)
