Hi guys I am trying to find out if there would be any difference in the distributor of my 94 celica gt with 2.2 liter 5sfe motor and another type of toyota with the same motor? I had to swap out my distributor a number of years ago and got one out of another toyota vehicle say camry corolla i am not sure of the model or year but it had a 2.2 liter motor. It runs ok. but I am not sure if the mileage has dropped due to this swap.

-Do they possibly have a different coil in them?


-Any other thoughts......

im pretty sure that the distributor from any 5S-FE will work. I dont knwo if there are difference between ODBI and ODBII

definetly have a diffrence if you go to the shop to get one. Theres two diffrent types they try to sell you. Just make sure you pull yours off to look at it before you go to the store, I had to turn right back around when I got home. DAMN CARSHOPS AND THERE COMPUTER DATABASES.

Make sure you get the proper one. As there are two types, a Cali spec and a Fed spec.

thanks guys mine has been on the car for a few years. I didn't pull it the junk man did and said it would work.
thats why I am not sure what model toyota it is from. It does work I just wondered if something was different that would ruin my mileage. Like a different coil or something that would affect timing......

Well you should use a tIming light to adjust it lol
