1994 GT4, the filter and piping is HUGEEEEEE! I thought of changing all this for a cold air intake or short ram intake...good or bad idea?
CAI or SRI on a GT4? - 6G Celicas Forums
Totally up to you.
If going the cold air route then good luck with your plumbing. you'll be doing things like moving your battery, angle grinding the battery plate, relocating the fuel injector resistor pack and extending its loom, fabricating a custom radiator overflow bottle, fabricating a box like rusty, fabricating an S-bend intake pipe, fabricating a cold air ram pipe. Good fun, and a really nice touch, a bit lacking in the performance per dollar department though.
Short ram quick and easy and cheap, You lose a bit of response and power, but the sound of the turbo spooling up every time you lean on it... it seems to put a smile on my face

I have WR-SW SRI on my car. Cost ~150 and took 5 mins to put on. Plus it comes with tubing that extends and bends that you can place on the end of your filter and create a sort of Cold Air Intake. So you can get the best of both worlds with no hassle. Honestly though, with the SRI I didn't notice a lose in power or response. My tachometer is reading a lil lower (~100rpm lower but idk how an sri would have affected that? possibly cause i havent capped off the bypass valve yet) In the power department I feel as though it might have actually gained a hp from it. Lol.
Plus the growl it makes is so awesome
hahaha.
Is your car a GT4 ?
And where can I buy this WR-SW SRI thing?

This is where I bought it: http://www.racinglab.com/weapon-r-secret-i...ota-celica.html

Ok thanks, but I just want to specify that I already have a huge filter with air intake sucking in air from under the car on the GT4...this is why I'm wondering if the SRI would be good or bad...worth it or not...
The Gt4 stock setup is very efficient. Honestly just upgrade the filter to a higher flow, maybe coat the airbox with a heat-reflective material of some sort and you should be fine
