if you get any hid get the 35watt the difference between them and the 55w is very small and the 35w last longer

go for the 55w if you plan to go with a high rating (8000K and up). it'll help with visibility especially driving on they highways in the evening.

btw, it'll burn the wiring if you buy cheap HID's. it happened to mine and it damaged my projectors costing me $300 to replate them.

how did this damage the projectors? the heat from the burning wire? or the light bulb it self got too hot??

thanks for you input.. I've been hearing that alot but no one is that sure of how much longer or how quickly they will go out, just an average life span of them both.

i noticed that there was smoke swirling inside the headlamps which caused a bit of blackening and there was a collection of carbon residue that formed on the bottom.

whoa, thats a bit scary, the cost of these projectors are so high, it would be crazy to wreck em, but the reason for that was the faulty brand of H.I.D?
also whats better the H.I.D kit that get's it current from the battery or from the former bulb wires

I don't have projectors, but I have 35W 8000K HIDs and have no problem with visibility at night.

Nice, I'm leaning towards the 35w, apparently they last longer, and are safer for the wires.. Thinking 8000k biggrin.gif

I've mentioned it many times before to kill 2 birds with one stone, that is to create an adapter and prevent oem harness burning, the best way is to get a heavy duty 9006 harness (Nokya) for high wattage bulbs, then get an H1 harness or H4 if none, splice them together nicely to create an adapter. Wire loom the wires, and electrical tape the ends like OEM. THen you have the best plug in play adapter on this site, from what I've seen mine is the best adapter on here.

^^ Anyone running HID's should be using a harness anyway... Just like a sound system, you shouldn't add aftermarket accessories without running a new power source for them. However, I'm just as guilty as anybody else for not using a harness.

DDM makes decent HID's, but I've definitely seen better performance from higher priced kits. You get what you pay for. I've had the girlfriend running a pair since last December without issue.
