the hood spoiler is not available in the US...

Natalie's car with the GT-Four hood and bumper has one, but I don't think I've ever seen a stock USDM hood with that spoiler on it.

New Toyota project coming soon...
at least 20 from what I've read.

No USDM cars came with them... the only cars that they came on were JDM WRC ST205's and ALL ST205's in the UK. A lot of Euro ST20x's also came with them.

In case you didn't know, the purpose of the spoiler is to keep the hood from flexing at ultra high-speeds. >wink.gif>
UK spec ST has the hood spoiler ! JDM don't . Also if you have a hood spoiler your washer jets will have a higher profile!

He he, another difference from USDM celicas to EURO >smile.gif> And yup, my washers are so high that and i hate the looks of them... And the purpose for that spoiler is to keep your wiper down on the frontglass at speeds >smile.gif>

And another thing... Not only ST205 came with it in europe, all the celicas ST;GT; GT4 have them >smile.gif>

my understanding of it was as kuya said...helps to stop hood flex at high speed >biggrin.gif>

All the purposes of the hood spoiler you guys mentioned make total sense. Helicopters have something called a trim tab...it's a longer portion of the trailing edge of the main rotor blade. Without that minute tab sticking out, the helicopter wouldn't be able to fly right. And also the tail rotor pylon has a slight bent in the rear fairing. I didn't know what it was for but when I went to school, I learned that the slight degree bent will help keep the helicopter flying straight in case of loss of tail rotor torque...without that unuseful looking bent, it would spin like a top >smile.gif> So little things make a big difference...like that hood spoiler >wink.gif>

cool thanks for the part number.

if its cheap and comes prepainted then ill get it, if not then **** it! >smile.gif>

it does make a lot of sense tho. the gt4 hood is a lot lighter then the stock gt hood. i could see how it could use some extra support. one of my friends calims that the gt4 hood is also mostly made of plastic (or at least the bottom of the hood). i kind of think that he may be partly right because the hood is so light.

the hood is all metal..exactly what, im not sure, but your right, the damn thing sure is light!(compared to the stock 204 one..) but anyway, the hoodspoiler dont come painted lagos,....but being black , and how small it is...i can see it costing more than a few dollars to have done..

your probably right, but if you tap on the bottom part of the hood, it dosnt sound like metal at all.

ok, i called up toyotaworld.com. the part is 59$, but they said it was discontinued and can no longer be ordered.

toysport can get them but be prepared to wait... along time >frown.gif>

yup...neverstop is right...toysport CAN get them...but it'll take aWHILE..

I think toysport has one in stock...because when I ordered my hood and bumper I didn't buy the hood spoiler...damn them, they won't send me my turn signals.
