Torque Specs for our cars listed anywhere? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #79212 12 posts Started by czwalga
Is there a link or page that has all the torque specs listed for our cars? I'm pretty much looking for everything, aside from the engine I have and already did those.

Looking for things such as the subframe bolts, all suspension, brakes, motor mounts, etc.

I dunno if this helps, but if your in college, your library shoudl have registered with search engines that you have free access to. some of them have auto repair references with torque specs.

My school pays for a site called ebscohost that I have access too, and it has an auto repair reference which lists how to replace parts basically on the whole car, including torque specs. Hopefully thats some help.

Yeah, I have the haynes... it has a fair amount of it, but not everything. I know the lsx guys compiled a giant list of literally everything in alphabetical order. Was just seeing if something was done like that here.

Chiltons and Haynes are horrible manuals and the torques are wrong from teh BGB. ill never use one again.

i think your right. I did snap a couple of bolts before while I was doing a clutch job while putting the engine mounts back on and transmission bolts.

Yeah, there were a couple when rebuilding the engine I noticed were blatantly wrong. A few others I never actually torqued to what it says becuase it was getting that 'feel' be fore it strips.

I'll agree on that one, you could definitely start feeling bolt stretch when I was rebuilding the 7a. I can't remember exactly which ones, but I remember thinking there's no way I'm going that far.
ya best bet is the oem service manual i bought one for 55 off ebay a while back ithas everything i need to know for my vert
i believe i listed most of the important torque specs in my rebuild thread for the 7A-FE. bolts like the 10mm valve cover and water pump i just go off feel, but major bolts like head and crank caps have a specific torque and i adhere to those.
