So when I get to around 1/4 tank the gauge commits suicide and rapidly shoots down to E even though I know I have about 3 gallons left. Anyone else have this issue?

Actually just yesterday I left my house with under a quarter of a tank, and a little ways down the road my gas light would come on and off, went to fill up and only let me put in 9 gallons.. when it usually takes a little more than 11.

its normal for gas gauges to do that, there is a thing that floats in the tank, and that says how much gas is left, so its not completely accurate. especially since the tank isnt a perfect rectangle, there is curves and grooves. the gauge is there to give you a rough estimate on your gas level, that's why i go with how many miles i have on the current tank, i can figure it out from there.

Lol yeah, when my fill light comes on, I know I have about 3 gallons left, since our tanks are 15.9 gallons.

My car has about 2 gallons ABOVE the full line,and about 8 between Full and half..and 4 between 1/2 and 1/4..and 2 between 1/4 and E..My gas gauge doesn't work well

mine goes really slow from full to half, then from half to a quarter it just like drops in like 30-40 miles. But i know i still have a ton left, just keep in mind how much you put in and average 30mpg or so and ur good its hard to run out of gas with our cars
