St205 timing - 6G Celicas Forums

Can anyone tell me how many degrees the timin is on a 205 motor, think mine is out kindasad.gif
with E1 & TE1 bridged in the diagnostics box....10deg

What do you mean with TE1 and E1 bridged....does it have to be, to adjust timing??

Why do I need to bridge the ports? When adjusting the timing...does the ECU let me know when it's correct or something with the engine light, please explain, thanx
Its for when you are adjusting the ignition timing only.
Also be sure to use a timing light..you can look at the BGB as a handy guide!
Also the engine will have to be running to adjust the timing (ignition).

Because you have to put it into diagnostic mode. The ecu will normally run whatever timing it wants or needs, but by putting it in diagnostic mode it lets you set the base timing.
