Hello I was wondering if those who have done the e153 trans swap can report their results. I specifically would like to know if you feel it accelerates much slower with the taller gears? Also how the taller 5th gear affected your gas mileage? Any other thoughts?? I am wondering if the taller 5th gear might help my mileage as the rpms are fairly high while cruising.

S54 accelerates faster than an E153
the pros of getting the E153 is the LSD (if any) and the low RPM levels....

my personal experience is getting a ~74 MPH @ 3000RPM for the E153 compared to a ~66MPH at the same RPM of the S54 tranny on 5th gear....

depends on what your intents are. if you want just the lsd, u can get one for the s54 tranny, and have the quick shifting for the drag, while possibly coming out cheaper. the e153 from what i understand is better for top end (and can handle more power). so its all up to you bro!
