there is another coolant temp sensor in the radiator. that is the ECT sensor for the fans to turn on or off.
I have no idea what it is, but it certainly isnt that.
the thermo switch is in the bottom of the radiator, stick your hand down there and search for an electrical plug and unplug it, notice your fans will be constantly on.
its an electrical plug thats plugged into a bung shaped thing thats screwed in, thats the thermo switch and thats at the bottom of the radiator
when facing the front of the car it will be just to the right of the drain bung and outlet hose
