The woodgrain interior is definitely something different! Not my cup of tea, but probably better than some of the painted 6th gen interiors around.

Congratulations on finally getting a celi! The interior looks clean and well kept! I wish the woodgrain in my car was in that condition, mine has slowly been falling apart.

Thank you . I didn't know how I would feel about the woodgrain either. I thought it would look tacky because it's not real, but it has really grown on me and I can't imagine my car w/o it lol.

It looks to be in great condition and well-kept for a '98 and the mileage is nice; I'm at 148k on the '99.

I'm not exactly the most savvy mechanic either. You just need to do a little research to get the basics down, ask questions to get the finer points, and have a little cash reserve. That's the hardest part.

Well before I start on mod's, some of the things I intend to do is just basic things to keep it running forever. I need to replace some seals because their is an oil leak somewhere and I want to get that knocked out, then I want to flush the engine and tranny because my mechanic told me that both were pretty dirty (the oil I knew, tranny I didn't). I also want to get a new timing belt because it's long over due on the sweet girl.

Then, I want to look into maybe getting a stronger tint in the back, get a new fuse box cover, and a latch for my hood holder thing because that broke off.

When that is all said and done I'm going to get her painted, probably put some LED's and clean up the head lights a lil, work some some interior cosmectic details (the only thing holding on the trunk latch is a pair of screws lol) and then look into some mods, though nothing drastic. I'm thinking about new springs to lower a tad, and some spacers. I've seen a lot of Celica's here with a strut bar in the engine bay (dunno what that is used for) but it looks cool and I'm going to look into what that does lol. Then... shoot I don't know, I may get headers or something lol.

How about yourself, what are you thinking about doing?

Swappppp...I can hook you up and help out Strut bars stiffen up the chassis to help in cornering. GTs come stock with a strut bar from the firewall to the strut towers.

There is also the JDM ST205 rear strut bar too. It tightens up the rear quite a bit.

Make sure that when you change the timing belt, that you change all the front seals too.
-Crank seal
-Cam seal
-Oil pump seal

Those were ALL leaking in mine when I got it.
