Apon further research, I've found that the S-drives that I wanted wont come in a 195/50/R16. Are Nankang Ultra Sport NS-II any good?

Best friend is running General G-Max's, so I think I'll go with the ones she has. They're pretty grippy! (not that I'm really looking for that... lol.)

Whelp. Trying to decide if I want to go with D2 RS coilover system or BC BR's. I'm getting about $1,100 back in tax returns, so I can afford either.

The D2 RS's seem to have more settings, have bodies that are aluminum and are electroplated to resist rust. They're also purple and black. (Would match the lug and caliper theme I've got going)

Then there are the BC BR's.

Anyone have insight on either of these two setups? I feel like Timmy said he has them on his car, but I can't remember.

I had the BC's on my car. Really liked them, but then again, I never had experience with other coilover sets. To be quite honest, I think D2's, BC's, K-sports, etc. are all pretty similar.

That's all stock. GT's come factory with a stainless tip on the muffler. The second cat was removed and that's it.

Did more research and figured out that the sidewall height is only a percentage. -.-

So, a 175/50/16 on an 8" wide rim will sit the same height as a 195/45/16. So, Yokohama S.Drive's on @195/45/16 it is. MOAR LOW!!! lol

I don't think it will be drive-able when I'm done >.<

So, just one more pay check and I should be able to afford the coils and tires. I've got almost enough!





Perfect tire to rim ratio IMO. Plus, I didn't like the idea of the really skinny tread on the 175's. Although that skinny would make it possible for me to slide the rear more, I don't think the sidewall would like it too much lol.
I'm thinking Megan's will be in order due to the fact that I'm poor as **** and can't afford the BC BR's.

Making an offer on a set of BNIB D2's right now though.

Woohoo! They accepted the offer of $900 on a brand new set of D2 Racing RS purple and black coilovers haha. $900 shipped. Now I'm broke >.> looks like ramen and the dollar menu for the next two weeks lolol

Discovered that my D2 RS's are rear camber adjustable. The pillowball mounts have top adjustments front and rear! No one else lists this for the Celica from what I've seen. So pumped.

Also, test fit of wheels. Tires are 205/55/16 and way too big lol.










Looking at either 195/45 or 175/50 Yokohama S.Drive tires.

Going poke, camber, and slammed lol.


Wheels are getting the centers powdercoated white and the lips will be polished.

Well the coilovers are on. ****ing annoyed. Has anyone ever had a completely **** experience with Coilovers before? The product it's self seems top notch, but the feel I get is ****ing horrible. So bad that I'm actually really tempted to go back to the Koni Yellow's with Eibach's.

So dropping the car another inch somehow ****ed the toe in / toe out on both front and back bad enough to make it feel like I'm driving a squishy old pig. The front tires are like \ / and the rear sits like / \ . I don't know if this is the reason the car feels really off or if it's something to do with the coilover, but so far, I'm extremely annoyed. My tires are making a stupid whurring noise on the right side too, possibly because of the alignment being so bad, but from 0 - 15mph it's almost unbearable. These pillow ball mounts really translate noise very well.

Rear top mount has lots of options for camber as well as the bottom of the strut. You have to modify the body to use these top adjustments though.

Came back to it in the morning. Got 3 out of the 4 done and started again once I woke up.

Lower. Can't go lower than this until I modify my exhaust height underneath. It's an inch from the ground at this point. Once I get the new wheels on, I'll see about the exhaust height.


Also, the rear sway bar is almost at the frame. It's swung up so far to meet the new mounts for the coils. Has anyone figured out a solution for this? Longer links? or does it run fine like this?

Well I'm a ****ing idiot. The dual core radiator means twice the coolant. My car isn't designed to move that much coolant and the fans can keep that much cool, so the car is overheating. I should have known the instant when I put it in and the pressure went high enough to keep leaking past my hoses. The top of the radiator tanks is even starting to bow. So **** aftermarket radiators with dual cores. Going back to a single core factory one since it worked fine. Only issue was the stupid thing leaked. Never overheated. Now that I've go more powerful and faster fans, it should work great. The radiator support got so hot today that I couldn't even touch it. This is on a 75 degree day too.

So now I need to figure out where I'm going to get $150 to pay for it

Got two of the four rims sand blasted, so they're almost ready... Tires are still suffering from bad toe out. I wish making mistakes in the car works wasn't so expensive.

Here's a question though: which way are the radiator fans suppose to blow? Towards the radiator right? Not sucking air through towards the engine? Is it possible to wire hem backwards? Because I thought they only had ground and positive.

Yeah..mistakes can be very expensive.

As far as your fans..they should be PULLING air from the front of the car through your radiator and "onto" your engine. The important part is that it pulls air from the front.

having them blow the other way would push the hot under hood temp air through your radiator..

What I did when I wired it was to wire the blue wire on the new fans to the blue wire on the factory plug. Black to black as well. Is that the wrong way? This would make sense as the fans have always made a noise like they're blowing against the radiator. I always just thought it was a faster moving fan and that was why.... >.>

Is this why no one else has had this issue with dual core radiators? lol

Whelp fans are have been wired the correct way for a few weeks now without any issues. No more overheating.

I've also been working on my wheels a bit with Sara's help.

How do you feel about the D2's now that they been on for a bit??

Now that I have an alignment and they're settled, I LOVE them. I dig into corners like never before, and that's on WINTER tires! Half way on the strut adjustment is almost perfect for daily use. It's a bit bumpy, so I may back it off to 14 instead of 18, but it's freaking great in the bends.

Yup haha. Leaving the wheel bolts out. I like the look of it open.

The theme will be a polished aluminum lip (I don't like chrome) and a powder coated white center. Looking for a center cap that I can polish (aluminum) too. I may order another set of emblems from Smkr3w and use them on the center caps.

This is a great example of the process lol. Closest one is the finished, then the non-polished, then the resurfaced lip/still needs some paint removal, and lastly the painted one.

So my birthday is coming up and a large box arrived at my girlfriends from Japan... She had been asking me what I wanted for the Celica and I told her that I would love to have a rear window spoiler/sunshade... it's about that length... 0.0 Here's to hoping. lol

Nope, it's a rear spoiler. Close enough.

The driveway makes the rear pass gap look huge. I'll put up some pics after fri when I finalize the fitment. Right now it rubs like nuts (still haven't rolled the fenders lol) and I need some front and rear camber. Going to pull the front fenders a tad to get a better fitment too. Possibly going lower soon, but I have to adjust the exhaust up a bit. The Ultra Quiet resonator is scraping on stuffs.
